The article you posted on NCAA .org is the current situation... and yes it does require unanimous support, which everyone expects to happen.

it will be interesting to see if the washington state president gives any push back on change.

the “rest” of the ACC are more attractive than the leftovers from the B12. Even if FSU and Clemson leave the other schools are in more populated areas and have better academic standing than most of the B12 schools. Most ACC schools would be a better fit for B10 than the B12. Most of them aren’t jock enough to go to the SEC. If they decide to repopulate the ACC that conference would most likely still be stronger than the B12.

The Pac-12 and B12 were mainly reliant on a couple of schools for all their clout.

Exactly! Basically Big Swaim is a die hard Ok St fan so he basically is just hoping that the big 12 survives during these times of uncertainty.

Getting into the acc (that only loses fsu and clemson, maybe 1-2 more) is the only thing that could save usf football.

That, or independent.

Assuming we could schedule some great opponents as an independent.  How do the new playoffs work if we were ranked somewhere decent at the end of the year and not a conference champion?

That's how they will keep an independent (outside of ND) out.  Won't be ranked high enough.   Seems to be a non-viable solution right now.

Going independent would probably mean the death of the program. With the playoffs coming, we need to be able to win a conference.

So many Homers out there. BXII folks seem to be some of the loudest. I guess that checks out since most of them are Texans

I thought that realignment graph showing academic institution rankings was interestingly telling...

it definitely is. I think it helps illustrate the market segmentation in college football. As much as certain entities want things simplified down to two pots they can’t. There will be too much discord between the schools. Jumping to better conference is great, but jumping to the right conference is priceless. We need to make sure we get into the right conference.

I think when all is set and done USF will be in a new ACC with mostly private and more academic minded schools. With the new CFP starting the conference will have one slot there and the media deal will be better than now but behind SEC, BigTen and maybe B12 but not too far from them.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
