I still think what SMU did was smart. They are 100 percent guaranteed to at least be in the ACC. Even if the ACC loses teams there will still  be enough quality teams left to form the base of a great conference. Syracuse, BC, Wake Forrest, Duke, Cal, Pit are going nowhere. Also teams like Stanford, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina State are not likely to be picked up.

Hopefully they were smart enough to put a clause in that agreement to void it if they lose teams. Hopefully their lawyers will negotiate a better deal for them or else they got what they deserved if most of the good teams leave lol

the acc will be fine. even if they lose their top 4 or so teams, they are still better than big 16.

not sure why people think they are some power conference that acc teams will fall all over themselves to join.

We could offer the B12 something similiar to get our foot in the door and to be an additional school in FL.  Can we afford it?   Are there any spare boosters around that will finance us?  Maybe SMU will pay for it!  LOL.

I would be surprised if WSU and OSU were invited to the Big 12. Cal and Stanford were much better programs ,and the Big 12 passed on them.

The Big 12 right now is going to sit back and wait to see what happens to the ACC. I think as soon as Clemson, FSU, and NC leave, the Big 12 is going to target Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Miami. The ACC on the other hand as well will make a move for Big 12 teams.

Who will come out on top is hard to say, but we will become a beneficiary of this since whichever conference loses out is going to have to backfill teams with Group of 5 teams

Sit back and bring out the pop corn

After FSU and Clemson is Ok State the top football school between ACC and Big12?

It's debatable but I think it might be Miami in terms of branding, location, and history.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
