Here’s an odd ESPN article that focuses almost entirely on the possibility of the PAC-4 joining/merging with the MWC. Goes on for pages and only mentions the AAC as an afterthought. To the contrary, everything I’ve been hearing is that it the AAC is a more realistic possibility, if the ACC doesn’t change its current “no” posture.

So ESPN (and FOX) are willing to finance two additional teams in the B12 but FOX isn't willing to cover the cost of adding Stanford and Cal to the BIG?  Neverending drama.

Since we know that ain’t happening, what about a structured payout system.  20 teams in 4 conferences.  Finish first in your conference you get 12% of the revenue, second place gets 10%, 3-5th get 6% each and then the remaining 15 teams each get 4%.  That way you can keep the dead weight Boston Colleges of the world, bring in some new high growth blood like Memphis, USF, Boise, etc and let them compete for their share.

Fox is the smaller partner in the B12 deal that pays $31M ... and the vast majority in the B1G that pays $70M.

Which says that Fox thinks Stanford and Cal are worth $31M but not $70M.

I think both Cal & Stanford don’t want anything to do with big 12. Their snobbery will never fit in with the big 12 culture. They will hold out for Big ten or ACC
