The ACC thought it would mean stability for the conference.  No one could leave for 20 years... and a lot of the ACC loves that. Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College, and others are quite happy about it right now.

And they think they are smart people running that conference lol. The leadership for big 12, ACC, & PAC12 needs to be questioned

Yeah either it was a meeting to discuss big 12 or PAC 12. Looks more like the PAC12 will have the last laugh regarding their feud with big 12. Look for PAC12 to team up with ACC to keep both together

Longer contracts are better for networks than shorter ones.

I've often thought about that. I wonder how much push back there was, from the schools, about contracts of such length hampering their own ability to shop around. Everybody knows that a million 2023 dollars is not the exceptional fortune it was in days gone by. I wonder if, going forward, the line of thinking is to keep options open, or at least flexible when signing a deal. Who would have thought that back in the 80's, college football would be what it is today.

All they had to do was forecast the market better. Seems like they dropped the ball lol

Maybe they hired consultants.  The consultants get to keep their money regardless.

Memphis and Tulane make sense to me for the B12. I don't see how SMU would be a good addition for them, and UConn seems so farfetched.

Big 12 has site visit with Memphis. This after visiting UConn.

Crickets out of USF.

USF being mentioned by absolutely no one for any conference.

That’s an absolute and not accurate. Stop with the doom and gloom. They are doing their part.
