Probably not. So, what happens if the TV deal falls through and Boise, et al back out? Let's say if the BE disbands and the ACC and Big 12 don't expand. Could a new conference form or would USF be sucked into an old conference?
Florida Bull Posted December 6, 2012 Group: Member Topic Count: 8 Content Count: 436 Reputation: 5 Days Won: 0 Joined: 06/18/2012 Share Posted December 6, 2012 4-5 mil isn't enough to establish us as the middle tier... big 5 big east little 4 now its little 5 if we dont get more money This is why USF needs ACC to blow up. Perhaps your dream scenario requires the ACC to collapse, but I am not blindly wishing for that. If anything, the death of the ACC could just lead to further consolidation of money, exposure, and access. I am unhappy about the ACC taking about 3.5 members from us. But, I want what is necessarily best for USF, not what is bad for the ACC.

From the article. Under its current deal, Big East schools are earning $4 million per year in primary rights fees. In comparison, the Pac-12 is splitting approximately $250 million per year among its 12 institutions. Everyone else's TV deals signed recently have skyrocketed. We are status quo. No new TV money will hinder the development of USF athletic programs.
