Times are changing. Now you have to think of an incoming freshmen as a free agent after he gets on campus. Not enough playing time? I'm transferring.  I'm pretty good? I'm transferring.  The portal has changed college sports forever.  Throw in the NIL stuff and, my guess, is college sports will not be as entertaining.

But just like recruiting, everyone is going after the same good players. Thus, it’s unlikely we get many four star players. We will still get the 3 star player in the portal (who maybe used to be a 4 star) instead of the 3 star freshman, but this time we only get a few years vs 4 years. Just because a kid went to Michigan and could not cut it does not necessarily make him better.

My point is that you may not get 4years from kids because it is so easy to transfer.

For sure, you have to recruit them even after they sign and are on the team. Everyone (coaches) will be pulling double duty.
