It’s the other players we lost out on because of it like Ace Sanders. Pulling Cranes’ scholarship closed a door at one of the best programs in the state until Willie came.

So you think xCSH was an idiot for what he did to Carnes, but you also think he was going to be able to out recruit Steve Spurrier for Ace Sanders?

No, I think Skip is an idiot. I also think the ship sales on Sanders when we fired xCJL, he said as much. I think that xCSH ****** the pouch when he tried to save face over fear that Carnes flips to xCWT at WKU instead of the school his cousin is a legend at. Pulling the offer lost is a potential Manatee pipeline that was invaluable and in the BE days we could sell a championship chance. Ace was the one I mentioned but there was a lot of work CJL had done to prep a pipeline from a solid an area powerhouse Skippy pissed it all away in a face saving move that may or may not have been necessary.

Carnes was going to flip no matter what.  We were his backup plan.

Yep. And when CJS institutes the same policy about commits taking visits, it’s going to be genius.

There is a difference between sticking to an implemented policy and randomly deciding to pull an offer.

Although not sure I like the wording of “randomly deciding” pertaining to that situation, I agree with there being a difference. It’d be interesting to sit in on some visits and hear how, and when, that’s presented by the staff.

It wasn't random.  I'm confident that xCSH knew that Carnes was going to flip and that he was just using USF as a backup plan.

The thing is, CJS is telling players to not commit unless they are sure.  He's not going to pull offers.  His stance is, if you're still looking around, you're not committed.  I don't see anything wrong with that.

I think you and I have different definitions of random.

I worded it poorly. I didn't mean randomly pulling the offer but randomly deciding to have that "policy" with one recruit resulting in pulling the offer.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
