Announcer of the smu game called the American a tough conference haha. 

Also, we can expect to have good field position against smu. Their kicking is atrocious

Theres a difference between going from 4-8 to 7-6 in three years and going from 10-2 to 7-6, losing six straight, getting shutout by 49 at home and losing to a team that lost to the Citadel.
