Point being, it's likely no one can name conference winners.

Winning the AAC didn't get the Tinmen recognition, it was playing in the NY6 game and beating a lackadaisical Auburn, and claiming Nat'l Championship, making banners and rings, etc.  Throwing false parades.  You can have that.

Yet, I'm still not sure they get any respect.  Sure ain't helping them schedule respected teams 1:1.

It feels like groundhogs day however I will dance.  Without the conference championship we can’t play in a BCS bowl and therefore get the respect and feel like the team played a full season and accomplished something. We will agree the proclamation of a faux national championship was a complete embarrassment and absolutely pathetic.

And what always gets confused, is this idea that the conference championship gets us respect.  No, it doesn't it gets us a better bowl game.

No idea and don’t care however I know who won the AAC the last couple of years and it wasn’t USF, it was our arch rival which resulted in BCS bowl bids, where they also received respect.

🤘🤘🤘. Yeah I think we have a little more juice as a conference than CUSA...

AAC Champions = better bowl game = more respect...can’t have the last without the first...

Yes you can, but that's been debated already multiple times.  And playing a better bowl game is great but doesn't mean respect.  UCF is short in the respect ledger... mostly laughed at.  But for those that believe they are our arch-rival it means a lot to them that they played in a game we didn't.

I’m guessing that a large portion of college football fans just knew that the Kanigits were the tallest midget but couldn’t really tell you for sure which conference they came from.

We don't know if a conference championship will bring us respect because we've never won one.

Let's ask ourselves then, who has won a conference championship and enjoyed the respect of College Football?  How about a G5 conference championship?

That doesn't mean you don't want to win it, you want to win all your games.

Who's the only team in our conference who's never won a conference championship in football... in any conference they've ever been in.  I save you time on the search... us.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
