Torello: USF hits field eager to right the wrongs of 2018

And some care deeply about that.  And some don't.  We spent a few years or whatever as a neophyte in C-USA, then got a seat (way early) in a BCS conference, in what year 10 of our existence?  Then we killed the golden goose and floundered about as the landscape changed.  We nearly killed the program and simultaneously wound up in the AAC.  Yes, we should win the AAC some time.  It's bound to happen, whether it has any value or not.

Golden goose.... the Big east paid us money but that conference didn't get a lot of national respect.  Only the teams who won it, which we didn't.  That conference had been dying a slow death since Miami, Va Tech, and Boston College left.  We were late to the party and we had no leg to stand on.  We never sniffed a BE title.  UConn won a share of one for crying out loud.  I mean honestly... we're where we need to be and actually build into something.  We haven't built a thing.  We have no tradition and that starts with a trophy that said you actually completed a season the best team in your conference.  It's easy to trash what you've never had.  

TBO... I couldnt tell you who won the PAC 12 or Big 10 last year more or less the Big Sky or Conference USA.  But every team in those conference knows who the CHAMP was.  We can't achieve greatness without winning a championship of some kind.
