Most games there would be no reason to storm the field (i.e. every other game we have played this year). I cannot believe that the percentage is even that high, all the more reason the field should have been stormed last night.

Tell ya what---

Buy us that on campus stadium and make whatever rules you want to.

Unless you can do that, the decision is not yours to make and all the bellyaching in the world will not change the financial aspects of an OCS.

And $100 million for a stadium? Please-- that would be a rinky dink stadium at best.

As for the Bulls colors-- besides not having them on the field (again-- a money issue. We can do it for $5000 a game if we wanted to)-- we have USF stuff EVERYWHERE in that stadium EXCEPT for the corners and the pirate ship.

It is entirely possible to create some sort of blowup Bull that would hide the pirate ship-- even one with smoke coming out it's nose. As for the corners--- who cares? The action is on the field.

I didn't see anyone havig a bad time in those stands. Yeah-- some got beaten down beyond what is necessary- that was not the best way to handle it. But if the game wasn't enough for the students, they are truly spoiled f****ng rotten. the students today are so **** lucky to have a football team at all. We didn't have one when I went there and we begged for one every day (perhaps we helped get the one YOU enjoy).

Bottom line: We will eventually build an OCS-- trust me-- it will happen someday. You still won't be allowed to storm the field then either--those days are GONE. But be prepared to wait quite a while for this to happen as we have an excellent alternative place to play that is both FIRST CLASS and makes us plenty of money as it is. If you have a problem with someone calling USF a commuter school-- understand that they are morons who know very little about USF in general.

Or we could just force the tax payers to pay for it as at least we provide some benefit to our community, as to the NCAA policy plenty of schools have other policies such as Clemson as I have already mentioned that even opens the gates for fans to not have to jump. Does the policy cary with it any type of punishment or aid in the enforcement? What's that? No, well than it is a suggestion that may be implemented or not at a schools discretion.

Yes it does. But its time puc does some research of his own and stops assuming crap he knows nothing about.

Now you want the taxpayers to build us a stadium? Yeah that's so easy to do. Take a few finance and accounting courses maybe an economics course or two (in the college of business, not the college of Arts and Letters).

We all WANT an on campus stadium, we just want a good one and for the right reasons. Having a few fans that want to be on the field at the end of a few games a year doesnt quite cut it.

As for me, I'd like to think in the very near future that there would be no schools worthy of us jumping on the field. We should be the best team on the field and believe we are before and after the game.

I posted this on the other thread:

Guys, I wouldn't email TSA because they'll just let it go.  Email Pres JG and Wollard about how obscene this is.  Make them fight this battle with the TSA.  They are trying to build this into a top level 1A program and they need to go to battle with their landlord - this is totally rediculous.

You mean ridiculous?

way to focus on the wrong issue

We cannot afford an OCS for at minimum another 15 years. That is a fact, short of Outback or someone stepping up and footing the bill. Unlikely.

The handful of things that are wrong (TSA, parking, not being able to destroy property or run unchecked like a lunatic) are so unimportant in light of what we DO have.

You guys need to appreciate how lucky we are to have a facility like RJS at our disposal. seriously

I think we agree on more things than we are letting on in this discussion and that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I do not think that we NEED to be able to storm the field, I do not think our stadium is the worst in the nation (see Legends Field and The Orange Bowl) and I do not think an on campus stadium is feasible or a magic cure to our fanbase problem. That being said things are not as peachy as some would like to claim and TSA has no legal right to beat on anyone, we should get some of our game generated revenue and the pirate ship is ugly. Things could be much worse for USF but they could be better.

We are not lucky we payed for it, that is not luck that is corporate welfare and if they tried to tell us we were unable to use our community stadium (that they rent to us) I would hope that would end up in court or be settled by legislation.

That is called sarcasm since the taxpayers already paid for this stadium. As to my assumption what is the punishment by the NCAA for a schools fans storming the field? I'll give you a hint it is nothing.

We get parking revenue that we pre-sell.

We get ad revenue for all the stadium advertising.

We get the money from selling Bulls stuff at the games.

your argument is uninformed. The profit on selling cokes and beer at the stadium and the cash from the parking IN NO WAY WHATSOEVER make up the cost of:

1) maintaining an OCS 365 days a years

2) the debt service on said stadium

3) the land that we could use for other purposes

4) repairing the damage made by tailagaters to parking areas, especially field used for parking

Until we can make up the fiinancial shortfall involved-- having this giant facility that we use maybe 10 times a year at most is just plain ludicrous.
