Have a good bit in common.  Both are high integrity coaches of similar age that were fired from blue blood programs and immediately hired at schools that were thought to be perfect fits.  Strong at USF for the FL recruiting and Richt being an alum at UM.  Right now, they both appear to be past their prime with no clue how to right the ship.  Their style of coaching has seem to come and gone.  I don’t see Strong fixing this.  He’ll probably replace his coordinators like he did at Texas and that still couldn’t save his job.

This is a very interesting analogy. Rich is considered an offense guy and Dtrong the defensive guy. Amazing how quick the game passes coaches by. Even at ucf Randy Shannon looks terrible.

Big difference is that Strong has not really built anything. Strong had one good season and Bridgewater at Louisville. Then he hired Gilbert.

Possible both are better at being coordinators and not coaches...nothing wrong with that...we aren't all good managers.

A good HC is really a good manager of the team as a whole and it is the coordinators that run both sides of the ball.

Richt’s offense is in shambles and Strong’s defense is atrocious, kind of ironic huh.

Yes.  Shannon’s defense is bad as well.
