“Hey guys we’re down 2 linebackers today so we’re just going to take away a solid guy off the dline and move him to linebacker even though he’s too slow and has 2 games under his belt.” While we’re at it, we’re going to run man coverage where we got torched last week and finally we’re going to run the HB Dive and 5 yard routes while down 24 points. Let’s run the clock slow .

yeah

all true

Maybe they don’t want to play for him and his sorry coaches

What recruits are going to want to play for this crap coaching staff? Any decent recruit will want the opportunity to improve and MAYBE have a shot at the next level. That certainly won't happen here.

My 7 year old, decked out in his brand new Rocky headdress turned to me and said the exact same thing 5 minutes into the third. We bailed.

We brought 6 new people to the game. They all bailed in the middle of the third...

Sad but understandable.

I was looking at the corporate boxes during the game and uncharitably thinking "How could you expect businesses to support this product?"

Thankfully this was on CBSSN and due to the Houston loss the stadium was empty so as few as possible saw how bad it was.

coaches failed today

IMO, the coaches are 1 - 8; I'm giving them the BOD with the GT game; all other games they did not do their job.

Before Houston: Maryland entertains hiring Strong

After Houston: Strong maybe entertains Maryland (for the backlash)

After Tulane: Bulls fans spam-mail/email the Strong family with Maryland brochures.

jk, but I knew there would be a meltdown of support after this game. I just see it as year 2 struggles in identity--it was inevitable as it was for xCWT, it's just that CWT's struggles go up-front (here, Oregon, FSU). Strong would have had the same thing, were it not for the strength of his on-field leadership last year. He doesn't have the same advantage this year, so his players are lost right now.

That and the Corgi races were the only highlights of the day

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
