TAMPA — USF coach Charlie Strong was obviously happy with how his Bulls rebounded Saturday to turn a 16-7 halftime deficit into a 25-19 road win over Illinois. But he was displeased with the first-half performance that got them in that hole to begin with.

So after watching the film, was it as bad as he thought after the game?

"Yeah, it was," Strong said Monday during his weekly news conference.

What was telling is that CCS said last Tuesday’s practice was terrible and it put it them behind all week. Hopefully this will be a lesson to the team to bring it each practice

Glad, because I certainly wasn't happy in the first half.

That bs tripping penalty changed the whole flow of the game.

Of course if the lineman had not fallen down he would not be in that position to begin with...

I don't know how he would change his mind on that... Of course he's not happy about it. 😂

I guess if somehow, the film showed that guys were not actually out of position and if all the false start penalties were not our guys fault, then he'd just be miffed and not angry.

I don’t blame CCS for not being thrilled about this win. The offense had too many penalties, we forgot how to kick the ball, and the D got pushed around early... We will bounce back this week for a more complete game

You mean the one where Mayes fell on his ass and then kicked his legs out to try stopping the defender, and the defender fell down? (Otherwise know as Mayes tripped the defender)?

It wasn't BS.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
