How long before we call for Leavitt’s head?  Don’t get mad or upset, this is a legitimate question.  Assuming we only win say 3 games (it is possible with our schedule) and the QB’s are as good as they were last year( already have a good start on that) – How long before Jim falls from grace?

Howie I know it's not a popular question, but I think it is realistic

You can ask the question and I can respond accordingly.

It's good to be loyal to the team, but this board seems like its got its head up its !@# every single time we talk about the potential firing of any coach.  Either they're strongly for it or its heresy!

Leavitt isn't god, lord leavitt, a magician, a fairy, or a lethal killing machine.  He's a person.  And so far a good coach.

You can ask this question at any program, even USCal or OU.  How much would USC have to suck and for how long till pete carroll gets fired?  Anybody who isn't blindly loyal could come up with an answer to it.  The same thing goes for leavitt.

Incidently, I believe caroll has more suckage buffer than leavitt.  I give leavitt this year and next to show great improvement from last year.  3 losing seasons in a row with less than 5 wins in each is not the direction this program needs to be going, as it is certainly an area and school with potential for big things.

So if leavitt goes 4-7 this year AND next year without any reason to believe he's improving the team, he's most likely gone.  I'm not saying this will happen, I feel strongly it wont.

But rather than raking the person asking a reasonable question, how about trying to actually answer it, or ignoring it.  This pious coach-knows-all mentality really irks me.  He's just a so-far good coach doing his best.

What factors go into that decision? Is it absolute wins and losses? Is it improvement over the previous year?  As far as I'm concerned, USF didn't start playing football until our first year in CUSA.  All those IAA games and pseudo-IA schedules...out the door. That was practice. So all the accolades about how great and phenomenal USF was...need to be taken within the context of WHO we were playing at the time. We were a IA team masquerading as a IAA team.

Now that we're in the watered-down Big East, the level of competition is somewhat better, and the expectation is that we will be competitive. This has the potential to open doors for USF, and if we don't see that happening...just like everyone else's job on the planet..."well, we're thinking of going in another direction".

I would say around September 18th.

You are right losing to a bottom feeder program like UCF would be enough for anyone to get fired.

USFPDiddy...Do you think this is the FIRST thread on this subject?

Someone else will ask the same question after every losing game.

We haven't even lost one yet this year and it's already being asked. That's why I rolled my eyes.

Everybody can respond the way they want.
