yeah, I don't think any number 1s went this week. Especially those that aren't considered workhorses.

its a little rough considering a deep run would could call for him to go twice this week. We struggled to get six per week out of him on seven days rest, much less trying to go into the tournament on short rest.

6 days. And if your ace can't throw on 6 days rest, you're run in the tournament is going to be VERY short.

Just saw that Wichita threw Heuer last weekend and he'll likely get the ball against us in the AAC tournament. Stats aren't as good as Shane for a #1, but Wichita wasn't worried about gassing him out a week before the tourney.

McClanahan didn't make all-conference teams, maybe that serves as some extra motivation.

That's a good point. I haven't followed WSU close enough to know what kind of pitcher Heuer is but they certainly didn't mind sending him out there. I would have liked to have seen shane go and get around 12 outs or so this weekend but sometimes he has to work really hard to get 12 outs.
