Those first couple rows on the sides must be awful seats once you put in the team benches, officials tables, announcer tables, etc.  I would think it is just a bunch of people blocking your view with the court like 30 feet away.

I believe they add in more seats that are closer for the games. Watched a few WSU home games and it seems like the fans were right on top of the court. We will find out tomorrow. Houston coach Calvin Simpson said it felt like his team was playing what seemed to feel like the Gladiator movie. He said that his team was put in that arena with no chance to survive.

Kind of looks here like there are a bunch of people just standing up in those areas behind the tables...
