Sumlin,......

After having a young guy, assistant that made his own way, you think your team would go the retread route, again?  Please excuse the creative punctuation.

"Retread" who owned the conference when he was at Houston. And took TAMU to 6 bowl games in the SEC West. Sumlin is a proven winner with an 8 win floor. Just didn't cut it in the SEC. When you have the worlds best facilities and among the highest salary you gotta be competing for championships. He got the Axe for going 1-12 against LSU and Alabama. He did pretty good against the rest of the conference. I think TAMU had the best record over his 6 years in the SEC west only after Bama.

This. He was put in the SEC West with a Program transitioning from the Big12 and had to deal with Nick Saban and LSU at their best where they had that run when both were top 5 teams almost every season. Chances are Sumlin would have been successful in the SEC East or Pac12. He would be a great fit at UCF if he doesn't go to Tennessee or Oregon

If he says with the team in any capacity, I respect him.  Unlike Slick Willie who bailed on his team.

Hope he stays around, he owes it to them.  Something lost on our former, money grubbin' coach.

Feel free to give it a shot.  Just curious about not going the Frost route again.
