When they tied us up at 21 I said in the chat room we had lost the game. I had confidence they could score 7 but was dubious we could.

The horrible clock management and being too conservative killed us. The guy behind me who’s always positive said “we left them with too much time.” With proper clock management that game was over

The Phantom Gilbert was not real.  Gilbert is what we thought he were.  And we let him off the hook.

Gilbert is only doing what CCS wants.  If you want to blame anyone, blame CCS.

For the most part I agree but how do we know this is the case?  I've talked to D1 players at other schools before about this very thing and you might be surprised the things they say.  According to them, hearsay i concede,  if you have a strong personality coordinator and a fairly meek HC then its entirely possible that the coordinator is running the show on their side of the ball.  Of course having said that,  its still up to the HC to fix it and if they aren't up to it then they do still own the issues and incompetencies of the support staff regardless

This offense is not limited by Gilbert, but by lack of offensive line play, particularly run blocking. We were 2nd or 3rd and 12-17 God knows how many times tonight. When you go backwards on first down every possession, that really limits what you can do in the passing game. There were a couple of really well executed play action passes set up by running it up the middle all game. Line play must improve if we are really going to see what this offense can do.

In the end, the defense was put In a position to close out the game, but failed...catastrophically.

The oline we have weren’t recruited to run the ball up the middle. They are better suited for an offense like we ran last year. Quick passes where they can get out in front and block.

Nonsense. Between Jeremi Hall and Cameron Ruff, there is 650 lbs of human. There should be a hole between those two, but some how, there is not. That is a problem.

Just because they are big, doesn’t mean that’s their strength. I will agree with you though that they should be able to do it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
