I have watched the Tulane game a couple times now and I dont recall Danny Thomas getting in the game. I saw Jimmy Bayes get in and I saw Khalid Mcgee #21 get in at Linebacker.

1. Was Auggie hurt in the Tulane game>

2. Is Danny Thomas Hurt?

3. Devon Jones Stewart (a walk on) is listed on the tow deep depth chart for Houston.

4. Is Andre Polk done for the year?

5. Can Keirston Johnson contribute at an acceptable level?

6. Would the better option be to have Greg Reaves play linebacker than the others?

7. We tried some funky combination of having Juwan Brown play MLB with Auggie and Nico on the outside. Everyone was confused.

What say you?

Imo Tulane won the TOP battle but Strong didn't rotate his starters enough and they got tired.  Strong likes playing Seniors.  Nobody was willing to admit they were tired but that it was just tackling and safety position was the problem.  I feel like we have atheletes at LB however Auggie hardly ever leaves the game and as a leader thats his choice.

I think Strong is rotating in whomever he can at LB to see what combination works best, and of course to stretch depth. We have a lot of athletes on D, period. As long as the staff feels they can handle the assignment (ie, taught & practiced) and as long as we have a veteran out there directing traffic, I think we'll be fine.

Auggie had 8 Tackles in the First Half.

Think Nico Sawtelle plays great.

Really like Reaves at DE.

Johnson is suppose to play against Houston.

Why would you consider moving Reaves? His performance on the line has been the biggest surprise of the season.

Only the in situation where we go beyond our two deep depth. Khalid McGee was a liability out there at 200 lbs. He got ran over

LB depth was a big part of the reason we got gashed through the middle of the field against Tulane. KJ is going to try to go against Houston, but he is coming back from a painful injury. After Auggie and Nico, our depth is weak with Polk and Johnson injured. This has been my concern all season long. Our D-line has been able to protect us somewhat by playing lights out, but they were on the field too much against Tulane as well. I fear that other teams might use the Tulane game plan as a template for how to wear our front 6 down. I think the performance against Tulane might be the reason Johnson is trying to come back from the injury instead of taking the medical redshirt.

Best way to counter game plan  is a long offensive drive...so we need a strong run game that also eats up clock to give d a break.  Which it appears they are trying to do.

Also d was horrible on 3rd down they let them convert way to many third and longs.

Could really have used Cherry this year at lb.

Amazing how fast these “great” players fall.
