Looking for a bright spot

So legend has it that the Indians have been protecting the Tampa Bay area from major hurricanes for the past 100 years or so.  That streak appears to be coming to an end tomorrow and Monday. But maybe, just maybe, they'll release the curse on the Sun Dome and MBB will climb to heights we haven't seen in these parts for 100 years or so as a trade off.  

Just trying to brighten the day of anyone who checks on here.

If Irma could cleanse the Sun Dome of its curse, that would be a bright spot.  But, I don't want her that far inland.

I hope you have your necessary supplies stocked and an appreciable amount of bourbon on hand.

Keeping an eye on the storm (TV) and hoping my Tampa friends remain safe and get through without property damage.

The entire time I lived in Florida I was in Tampa and then Bonita Springs. My thoughts are with all of you in Irma’s path this weekend.  Hope Tampa can continue on with its streak but it’s not looking good. Stay safe y’all.

Speaking of the Sun Dome, they are a shelter for only the medical needy. Meaning that they are only taking in people who are on dialysis, those using oxygen and those in need of on site nursing.

There is a regular shelter on the USF campus at the Pizzo elementary school on Bull Run. We have checked in there and will be staying over tonight and tomorrow.  It's run by the Red Cross and serves three free meals a day.

If you are still looking for a place to shelter, I suggest going there today and registering, since it is filling up. It has room for 1,600 people. After registering, they give you a wristband with your assigned room number.
