BEER & WINE SALES RESUME AT SAN JOSÉ STATE HOME FOOTBALL GAMES

San Jose State joins the list of schools selling beer and wine at home football games.

Aug. 23, 2017

San Jose, Calif.---- Following California State University Executive Order 1109, San Jose State University will resume selling beer and wine at home football games in CEFCU Stadium starting Saturday, August 26 when the Spartans host #19-University of South Florida (USF).

San Jose State last had beer and wine sales at its home football games through the 2012 football season when its existing contracts expired and California State University Executive Order 966 took full effect.

Beer and wine will be available for sale at locations throughout CEFCU Stadium. Fans must visit one of the six ID stations throughout the stadium to receive an identifying wrist band. There will be a two-item limit per sale and all beer and wine sales will end when the third quarter of the football game is over.

"Clearly, you are seeing more and more institutions offering this service to their fans to enhance their overall game experience. We believe it can be done responsibly in CEFCU Stadium and it's important to San Jose State that we have a workable process in place to ensure appropriate fan behavior by all including students," said San Jose State University Director of Athletics Marie Tuite.

Other breaking news for anyone transferring through Houston or possibly other Texas cities. Hurricane Harvey may screw up travel plans.

Cable should be the least of your concerns. 20" of rain and nothing but concrete for miles, that town will be underwater for a while.

Stay safe.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
