For every one of those who embellished with the "he accomplished so many great things while here"  there are those who basically give him little credit for what he actually did do here, turning the program back around and having the best reg season in the history of the program. That he does probably have the lightest resume of a coach taking over a top 10 program (arguably) has absolutely nothing to do with what he did here and it's hard to not classify someone bringing that as just "being mad".

This is old hat, but CWT was about 6 games away from being fired and turned things around and got an extension.  I guess it all depends on how you read what I wrote, but between what you said, what 206Bull said, and what I said, they can all coexist at the same time.  His career has been somewhat paradoxical.

IMO, If CWT didn't have Flowers, he'd now be out of work. LOL

You just sound mad.

Correction - If he did not let Flowers start doing Flowers type things, he'd be out of work.

So if we go back and reverse his good decisions he would've done worse. That's a bold claim....

Fair, it would have been nice to see at what point, if any, that CJL would have left.

True enough.

I give a lot of credit for that to CWT listening to his old HS coach.

Yeah, imagine if CWT would have been stubborn and tried to force HIS system, Flowers might not even still be here.

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
