Just the info I was given last week.  He was down to the NBA and Ok State.  NBA is looking unlikely at this point.

USF is out of the running.

Although highly unusual for his guardian to mention USF as wanting him badly.  Obviously we're pushing real, real hard.

I would bet we're still an outside consideration, but cheatin' Sutton is going to be tough to beat.

OK, I know that I am a "Biased" Bull, but I think that USF is a better deal for him than OK State.

1) OK State lost the Grahams & Lucas, they could be down.

2) Sutton's Last Year?

3) The BE gets more exposure than the Big 12 in Hoops.

4) At USF he Could be the MAN. Lots of roster changes.

5) Plays close to home.

Do I have my Green & Gold glasses adjusted correctly?

USF has made alot more sense for tons of highly ranked athletes in the past, but that has not gotten us anywhere, or any committments for that matter.

I want the kid to come here also, but:

1) See your point 4....we are also "down," that's why he would be the man.

2) He's not interested in the school's 4 year program, he's one and done most likely

3) Good point, but not too shabby either: Ok State, Kansas, Texas

4) Best point. He has the opportunity to be the man here.

5) Hopefully he is close with his family and cares about them seeing him play

I can recall a big discussion about this on here a while back, and the concensus was "hell no, we don't want the one-and-done type of player." Most people thought we would be better off building a team by getting long-term players who are not prima-donna superstars. Calipari has been recruiting that type of player at Memphis and you can see where it's got them, they are a NCAA bubble or NIT type team.

With this in mind, do we really need this kid if he's only going to be around for a year? If he's trying to get to the NBA I don't think he'd be happy with a only a trip to MSG next March.

because we are desperate for talent right now and willing to sign a juco or transfer for the final 2 spots, then Yes, we would take someone knowing he would only be 1 year.  We have 2 spots open... so if we don't find anyone, its just 2 empty spots and we have a short bench.

A 1 and done is not bad right now.

I say hell yeah we welcome this kid even if he is a one and done. The exposure of us finally putting another player in the NBA would be well worth it IMO. Plus, we need all the help we can get next season in the NBE. If he decided to come here for even a year, maybe his decision would affect future recruits with NBA potential.

I have a feeling that coach Mac has more of a Coach K like relationship with his players than what Calipari has. Maybe Coach could convince these kids that USF is the bast place for them to develop their game.

There is something to be said for the fact that he would have less competition in the Big 12.  To be sure, the caliber of that competition would be lower...

Therefore, his statistics would be higher at OK State AND he would seem that much better... OK State may not be as high profile as the Big East... but he wouldn't have to share what profile there is in the Big 12 with a lot of people.

If we think about it from his perspective for a moment, OK State is better for him in the long run... because it would be easier to be Big 12 MVP than Big East MVP.

Brumbaugh is on the NBA's published list of players who have declared for the draft. Doesn't that make his plans official?
