WASHINGTON D.C., DEC. 2, 2016 – USF will look for its third consecutive win on Saturday when it plays at George Washington at 2 p.m. in the nation’s capital.

The Bulls, at 4-2, are already half way to last season’s win total of eight. They will be trying for three straight wins for the first time since the start of the 2014-15 season, Orlando Antigua’s first season as the head coach.

USF will hit the floor in Washington D.C., two days after an 80-76 win at Troy. For the second consecutive game, the Bulls shot well from the floor in the first half (60 percent) and built a big halftime lead (18) to get the win. Junior guard Geno Thorpe (Pittsburgh) scored a career-high 22 points, including the final 20, to lead the Bulls. Thorpe’s scoring average of 16.3 points per game ranks ninth in the American Athletic Conference.

Sophomore forward Luis Santos has been USF’s hottest player as the Bronx, N.Y. native has scored in double-figures in each of his last three games and is coming off a career-high 14 points at Troy. He has made his last 12 field goal attempts and leads the conference with a shooting percentage of 81.8.

The Opponent

USF’s third game in six days comes against the defending National Invitational Tournament Champions. George Washington (4-3) is coming off a 77-74 win at Harvard on Tuesday. The Colonials return five players, including two starters from the championship team that went 28-10. GW has been led this season by graduate senior Tyler Cavanaugh who leads the team in scoring (18.4), rebounding (8.0) and assists (2.7).

Notables

·   GW leads the all-time series, 4-1, after winning last season’s meeting, 73-69, in Tampa. Cavanaugh was held to 10 points and two rebounds in the game.

·   USF is 32-53 all-time against members of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

·   Freshman guard Michael Bibby has made at least one 3-pointer in every game and is 10-of-20 from 3-point range this season. Bibby is fourth on the team with 7.8 points per game.

·   USF is one of four NCAA Division I teams with no seniors on its roster. The other three are Bradley, Penn State and UT-Rio Grande Valley.

·   USF has held a first half lead of 18 or more in each of the last two games.

·   The USF Basketball Radio Show airs next on Dec. 13 from World of Beer on Fowler Ave. Join head coach Orlando Antigua and the voice of the Bulls, Jim Lighthall for the one-hour show starting at 7 p.m. Listen live on 820 AM or online at GoUSFBulls.com.

I don't see the game stream on their site. Anyone have any luck? It's showing no live content in that tab.
