I really hope that Harlan and Co. are trying to find a replacement for that Stony Brook game. I can handle SJSU and UMass, but with 3 cupcakes on the schedule I am afraid that we will find ourselves in a similar situation to this year. Lack of respect due to "quality of opponents" aka G5 hate.

It will help if we win these games by 50 points each.

Schedule sets up nicely, but don't sell Houston short.  If they get the right coach they have some talent, including Kyle Allen (5 star qb) waiting since he transferred from A&M.

Honestly 12-0 is a possibility next year, but that schedule is so week (in a strength-of-schedule way) that there is no way we would get into the championship game series without:

1) Winning every game by 50.

2) EVERY "traditional" team having at least 1 lose.

3) EVERY "traditional championship-level" team having at least 2 losses.

So this is what I think we should be working towards.  We need to beat all our AAC conference mates year after year ala Boise.

The key, as I see it, is keeping CWT for the long term.

I hate to break it to you guys, but both Navy and WKU finished the season ranked last year and dropped out of the preseason rankings. You guys know they like to rank the usual suspects first, no matter how they ended the previous year (i.e., ND). so even if we finish ranked, don't get your hopes too high on us being ranked next year.

Navy dropped from #18 to #38.

WKU dropped from #24 to #40.

Oh and Houston dropped from #8 to #15. We're in the "G5", we will get dropped.

I think Navy and WKU dropping was more related to them losing basically their whole team to graduation. I think we have a better chance since we're returning almost everyone important

Houston still dropped 7 spots though, they did not lose much if I remember correctly, and they beat FSU at the end of the season.

Don't get me wrong.. I will hold out hope, but I'm expecting the worst with the pollsters. Granted.. we still need to win our Bowl game of course! :D

Houston lost a players on defense this year. It showed as I thought it would. Pretty sure the pollsters knew this to.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
