I thought at first he was doing that at the game but in watching the game, I don't think he was .... just holding the ball out away from his body while he swatted away Knats with the other.

In the post-game he as much as admitted it, and coach told him not to do it again.

At UCF a week ago, a linebacker  ( I think) running one back on a pick 6, did a very similar thing, ref tossed flag and nullified the pick 6. Neither the UCF pick 6 nor Macks  move was worthy of a flag, bit from crew to crew, some refs get burned about it.

I thought he's made more tackles this season . . . ?

My favorite was Mack's 2nd TD run. The Best Run in USF History!

For me it was a toss-up between this one and the fumble recovery TD that took the life out of UCiF. I'm gonna agree though, the Mack run was legendary.

QFs pancake block of a d-lineman was pretty sweet too but play ended up being a negative.....i have to say any of the sacks we had...where have they been all year? J Brown and Mike Love came to play!

Much as I LOVED the outcome of both of these plays, I have to agree with coach, who was saying, NONONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOO... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ball security is PARAMOUNT

Non-ball handling players should never try to scoop and score - just fall on the damned ball.

And Mack taunting the kanniggitts with the ball was a recipe for a fumble.

Those plays were knife-edged between catastrophe and unimaginable success

We got lucky - not good - on both of them

Whew!

I like ball security, by d-lineman practice the scoop and score. It's actually the correct play that close to the goal line.

Didn't see the pick 6 so can't tell how similar situations were but MM was still in jeopardy most of the time he was supposedly showing the ball (still have a hard time believing he was that stupid in that situation).
