Ok, in reading the rules, I think maybe I won. Dogma is right, in that the rules say closest to the score, not margin (so while Dogma almost nailed the margin, he missed total points).

CPR and I are the finalists, with the same score.

Tie Breaker 1: Rushing. We both picked Flowers

Tie Breaker 2: Receiving. CPR picked Adams, I picked MVS...both wrong, as McCants was the leading receiver.

Tie Breaker 3:  Total Points: CPR picked 400, I picked 369.  Actual yards 352.  I was closer, but we both went over.

FINAL BREAK: analysis of the predictions.  I win this one, as I explained my picks, and gave some commentary.

THOUGHTS??

You tied across the board on this game. It will be up to Brad to pick a winner or do some sort of random draw imo. He does not have more tie breakers described in the rules so I would guess it is up to his discretion. If it were my decision, I would use the closer to the actual yards as the method to determine a winner since both went over anyway. That would give the win to JupiterBull. The only other way would be using the receiver who had the most yards between MVS and Adams.

Here's the tie breaker:

"The winner will be decided with the first and second prediction items. I am looking for the person that comes closest to the actual score, not simply the margin of victory. If more than one person is correct, or equally close, we'll go to item three. Closest wins. If still tied, we go to item four - if still tied, item 5. After that, whoever gives the best reasoning, and pre-game analysis wins"

So, since I'm the only one of the 2 that gave reasoning, I win, IMO.

That said, unlike Trump, I will accept the final results, however TBP decides.

bottom line is that it is up to Brad... his contest, his decision.

Considering that CPR picked Adams as leading receiver versus your pick of MVS - CPR was closest as Adams had 2 catches for 43 yards (2nd most) versus Scantling's 1 catch for 27, technically CPR would be closest to correct.

source: ESPN box score

True-- neither named the correct leader, but CPR is closest. This is technically tie breaker 4 (you did not label winner and score as 1 and 2).

Then again-- you both are over on the total yards (tie breaker 5) but you are closest to the actual value.

The only one who can truly tell us who won is Bulliever.

where the asterisk above references this last line:

*As with previous years' contests, Bulliever is the final judge on all entries. He will select the winner based on secret, pre-established criteria. All decisions are final.

Agree completely...and if I was CPR, I'd argue the Adams pick wins it for him.

We shall see.

I shall take this to committee and report back.

Just kidding.  In the past on identical scores we go to who named a leader in receiving or rushing.

I'll apply the rules as they fit and report back.

This is correct.  So I will award two prizes, a first and second place price with the first place being determined by coin toss.

So please, CPR and JupiterBull, please send me your addresses.

It's taken time, but I am getting most if not all of the packages out this weekend.

Thanks for your patience.

Brad
