I concur - Something outside the box is coming up on the uniform front, I feel. Also, Collin emojiconically (it's a word) alluded to something big coming up for this weekend.

Meaning, he posting something that he could later say was an insider tip if we wear a cool new uniform and yet isn't specific enough to look like an idiot if we don't.

And also, should I tackle the "black clothing is warmer" myth or is there another science nerd lurking who wants to blow it up?

Black shirts = fail. My scientific observations are that if I wear a black shirt when mowing my yard, I last about half as long as when I rock the wife-beater.

But if you must have the science:

Only problem is it reflects the heat from your skin too, thereby heating you up from the inside. Black absorbs ALL of the heat inside and out. Hence the reason people have been wearing black in the desert for a few thousand years or so.

When I went to USF my physics prof ( Denver Jones ) had a tiny piece of paper on the tip of a pin. It was ever so slightly moving, he asked why? Answer it was black and the energy it absorbed gave it some potential to kinetic energy.  And I don't know about the desert because the sand is reflecting all of its own back up. Interesting summary article though.

I get it, but robes are different than tshirts/form-fitting shirts. Seriously, I can feel my skin heat up with the black (or dk blue), but not so with white shirt. Even the article mentions that the black robes absorb more heat, it's just that the layers likely disperse the heat before it gets to the skin.

Maybe it's also psychosomatic, but I don't wear black in the sun unless it's winter.

All I know is, 3 people who work for Harvard say wearing black in the desert isn't going to make you hotter. Good enough for me.

Still no announcement. I'm thinking they're doing something different this weekend.

Clearly they've never been there

I think they are coming out in FSU uniforms.  That would shock the nation.
