CBS has us down three spots at 31. To go from 28 last week to 31 this week is ridiculous. SEVEN 1-1 teams ahead of us.

Dang.

Rankings are a joke this time of the year. Like I stated earlier, no bias whatsoever, there is ZERO reason Cincy should be ranked higher than us.

Yeah can't pay too much attention to the "others receiving votes" in the single digits. It just means some reporter put them as #25 or something because they beat the B10 juggernaut that is Purdue. I bet USF will get that such a bump if they beat Cuse.

We are probably ranked about where we deserve to be at this point. You have to win games to get the votes. We've beaten no one of any significance so far this year-- though looked good doing it. Even beating Cuse won't be all that shocking to the average voter- in fact if we don't thump them good, we might lose a little respect after Louisville throttled them.

Teams with losses ahead of us typically lost to other big named programs. USF will forever be chasing the historic programs when it comes to rankings and everything else (respect, name recognition, donors, etc). Teams like FSU and UF get ranked based on expectations - as both of those programs have decades of positive results. USF had a few good years in the mid/late 2000s. We are moving in the right direction but anyone worried about rankings this early in the season is jumping the gun imo. Let's see where we are at after the first 6 games.
