Trevon%20Sands.jpg

Ohh and Trevon Sands lit em up today.  Lots of good runs, has a lot of Mack in em, and even though he took a year to get here, he looks just as good as his HS tape.  Mack as usual did his thing too, he's a star.

Thanks usfbullrider.

The problem with team scrimmages are that every good play by one group on the team is likely a mistake or breakdown by another group of the team.

I kinda like to look for plays that could go either way and that usually points to a good sign.  Like your backup qb throwing a perfectly placed ball but the DB gets his hand in there and makes a play when the receiver had 2 hands on the ball.  If you see too much success or too much failure like players out of position then that's not good.

This is an example of something that doesn't look like success but I think it's a good sign:

Thanks for the recap usfbullrider.

I agree I think the way to look at scrimmages if both sides are making plays that's good...when one side is dominant then that could be a concern.

Kean sounds like he has greatly improved..he is a redshirt freshman?

Could be our future starter his junior year.

I think it has to do with the pacing of the practices being much faster than game conditions.  The have them switching fields too at random.  Plus try pushing around 300 lb tree stumps.  I dont think they are badly conditioned but maybe they are.  Plenty of time to get that ironed out.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
