Exactly. As I understand it, you normally can't get any relief of HIPPA laws from a reporter. The person/institution to sue is the medical provider. Technically, Shefter did not violate any laws. Not that I'm an attorney, but I've heard a few speak on this subject.

Good possibility Giants let him walk; he was still highly effective with them when he returned . The big killer was the club on his arm and lack of being able to grab. If the additional surgeries help him get any semblance of a grip he could still be a beast

I'm a die hard Giants fan and love that guy, but he's nowhere near the same which is why there is a great chance the Giants let him walk if he's asking for a good chunk of change still. A rough way for a guy to put his career in a downward spiral. Edited February 26, 2016 by USFbulls24

A rough way for a guy to put his career in a downward spiral. He had 24 QB hurries in 8 games, the league leader had 36 in 16. The sacks and tackles were down, yes, but that was in part with the club and not being able to grip. I'm also a huge Giants fan and thought he was done, but loved his tenacity to get himself in game shape and when he came on the field he made a difference; albeit they were the worst defense in the league. I think he'll do well next season and on a new team. Get that ESPN $ Jpp!
