I've been working with entertainment for a good 12 years now and have a few RIAA-Certified Gold/Platinum records and am a Grammy-voter/NARAS-member, so I should be of some help, hopefully.

Regardless, you're going to get a million conflicting opinions, including mine; in the end, make sure whatever you're doing is making you happy. There's a lot easier ways to make money than the entertainment industry (especially the music side), so make sure you're having fun. If not, there's absolutely no reason to continue down that path.
