Each bowl game is allowed to give players up to $550 in value per player in swag/gifts. Some bowl are now doing "gift suites" where players can go in, browse items, and choose what they want. Others give predetermined gifts to the players. It appears that USF and WKU are getting the short end of the stick as far as the bowl gifts are concerned. Unless that bluetooth speakers is REALLY impressive, it looks like they are getting about $350 worth of gear. Here are the gifts they will be receiving, which one site ranks as the 34th best out of the 40 bowl games:

Bluetooth speaker; Oakley Blade Wet/Dry 30 backpack; Under Armour bucket hat and sunglasses; beach towel; waterproof cellphone case; commemorative football

By contrast, here is the #1 ranked bowl gift package:

Something is better than nothing, but an XBox One beats "something" any day, as does that cool life-sized decal. Still, I kinda agree with the list--loaded gift cards to BB rock.

But yeah, a Wal-Mart beach towel and bonus game time on national TV beats empty hands and empty dreams all day long.
