Mark Kingston was introduced as South Florida’s coach June 12, 2014, at a news conference at the USF Baseball Stadium. After speaking to the reporters, boosters and administrators present that day, the former Illinois State coach went to work.

“No time to waste,” Kingston told reporters in Tampa that day.

And so, immediately following the event, he drove south to Fort Myers, Fla., to scout players at the ongoing Perfect Game National showcase. It was there that Kingston and recruiting coordinator Mike Current began putting together their 2015 recruiting class. They couldn’t have known it at the time, but despite their late start, that class would become one of the best in the country. It ranked No. 8 on the Top 25 recruiting classes released last week, marking South Florida’s first-ever Top 25 ranking.

Might be the best hire USF  has made this past decade. I mean this fully.

Loving this hire. Unlike football, we have the money to keep him a long time. There are plenty of baseball coaches who stuck around at "mid-major" schools and had a ton of success. Not an exact comparison, but look at a school like Cal State Fullerton. No football and tons of baseball success.

Much like the dragons in Reign of Fire. Probably one of the top 10 best movies ever.

I'm pretty sure I read that the Library of Congress was putting it on the National Film Registry.
