I get so tired of USF being measured in a way not consistent with every other school in America.

Game story should use USF's announced attendance number. If someone thinks the number is fraudulent, then they can do research and present their evidence of fraud (which there is none, I might add).

At the end of the year if the beat writer wants to write a piece that compares announced attendance to butts in the seats, if it truly is newsworthy, then go ahead.

Thank you.  That's the problem...it's not consistent with every other school in the country, and also not consistent with any team anywhere, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, you name it.  That's my problem.

I understand most other schools actual attendance isn't made available.  So why do an apples to oranges comparison and report USF's actual attendance, when no one else does.  Why not do an apples to apples comparison (announced vs. announced).

My first sentence, which you have to go back up for, was not written entirely tongue in cheek.

Curious though, UM is in the same type situation we are. Do they release actual and do their beat writers focus on it?

Hopefully not in another man's fatigues, but if so, not that there's anything wrong with that ...

UM uses announced.  Their beat writers use announced.  In fact, in looking up their game story vs. Nebraska, they didn't even say announced attendance.  They just said attendance was XXX (when XXX was the official announced attendance NOT actual attendance).

So, yes, the TBT is the only paper to give the actual attendance on the home team rather than announced.

We need to start winning,

and the announced/actual numbers won't matter.

I believe we have a TBT writer that occasionally posts here. Maybe he could provide an explanation.
