I check Russ Wood's Twitter daily. He's really on top of the hoops scene in Florida. Mostly high school but he seems to have good Intel on USF, UF and even some UCF news.

He broke the news that UCF offered Steve Masiello the basketball job.

I guess since Joey Knight credited Russ about six hours after he broke the news, that's confirmation that Russ got it right about Holston.

Wait... he broke the news that ucf offered Steve Masiello the job.  Funny USF offered him a job too but it wasn't broken by Russ Wood.  I guess these are two different events.

Yes, I thought I read he sits a year, then plays up to 2.  Was hopeful I was wrong.

I meant USF, can't believe I typed that other school. Russ Wood was the first person I saw a Tweet from saying USF offered Masiello the job. At the time even Joey Knight Tweeted that he wasn't seeing that reported anywhere else.

Of course we know how that turned out with Masiello not having graduated from Kentucky.

Bottom line, Russ Wood may not be the best source of info but to ignore or dismiss him is kind of foolish as he does provide good basketball info
