  1. But he still has that nice looking tat http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mavericks/post/_/id/4694884/mavs-waive-former-first-round-pick-dominique-jones
  2. I don't think you're way off, but I don't see the Big12/USF-UCF thing happening for a while. So if this is there way of getting their foot in the door fine. But still leaves our "AKA" conference with nothing but weak bowl games. Honestly, I'm just thinking aloud, but, what if this is a subtle indicator of the B12 coming into Florida with one or more geographically close teams? Easy travel and high attendance for FSU/Miami -or- USF/UCF fans if selected. If one of the FL teams doesn't get the spot, then it's excellent exposure to possible recruits on 1-4 and elsewhere in the state for the other B12 teams AND they can tell recruits they would be playing close to home at least once a year. I could be completely full of s*** about this, but it does make me wonder if the B12 is being proactive, playing chess and setting up some pieces.
  3. Lets fix the real problems first and that's the product on the fields (games). Winning will help cure the other issues. IPF can't help that right now, we are in a rebuilding phase as an athletic dept. So I agree, lets be smart about spending this money for the long term. I think spending half on a nice IPF isn't the best investment. Once we establish some regular winning by all our teams, than building practice facilities and joining conferences will be a lot easier and fiscally sound. Just my opinion
  4. Aggreed...just a name. I don't like the number in the conference name. What about when the conference membership goes to 14?
  5. After our last two years, we may be a few team's homecoming game
  6. Plus the fact that they are getting spanked in all their sports too...makes it even sweeter!
  7. +1 to this...not just a recruiting tool and good necessity for FL sports teams. Bank the rest for other important needs that will come up
  8. SWC- South Western Conference...it's a throwback and can be retired again in a few years.
  9. Odd move...leave a program that appears to be getting a little better (at least on paper) to go to a program that has been down and is about to really go no where once the NCAA gets done with them. I know our BE uncertainty is out there, but I think we have a lot more upside than the U at least for the next 3-5 years, which I think in college football is a long time. Hope it works out well for him
  10. I agree with charsibb on this, should have more than an intern putting these things together (assumption for the sake of blatant mistake), need a better Communications/Q&A Manager who can help ensure these screw up don't happen as often. Seems like there are a few of us looking for these things on a daily basis
  11. Is his seat getting at least a little warm? This team is not progessing that's for sure, so you have to wonder if there is at least some pressure to get things fixed for next year or else...
  12. Question...do you think other schools are fearing we are rebounding and might be hesitant to play us? We have a good rep for beating OOC teams
  13. He's fine for another year...and the article/comments are right on. We are young, inconsistent and small...not a good recipe in hoops
  14. At this point i don't care if we are in a non-Big5 conference.. i am so hungry for a conference title of any sort that I hope our team finally gets it done, THEN get plucked to a bigger conference. a part of me wants our program to earn it on the field +1 on this, things happen for a reason.
  15. I've never really like the star rating or all the hype around this and that (ESPN 150-300, Rivals and Scouts)....there is talent like J. Clowney and than the rest. FSU and UM have had all the top class this and 4-5 star that and they still can't put it together. Coaching and hard work is what takes the kids to the next level. Granted the kids have to have talent, but it didn't take a "football expert" for anyone to see that JPP was going to be good player. I'm fine with kids that want to play here and get this program in the direction we were going a few years ago. And from the sounds of things this staff is going that
  16. Has a tough road, but good luck...do we even have anyone on the O-side on a 53 man roster? I know C. Mitchell was just signed to the Cowboys, but I can't think of anyone else...
  17. You must be new around here. I know right...I've been on here a while actually. Took a couple years off from posting cause the negative vomiting was turning me into a nasty fan. Decided to come back and not get too involved. But I know relaxing on this board probably can't be done
  18. Was always one of my biggest issues with the old staff, they just never seemed to be thinking ahead. Or able to get the kids we needed We will have a lot of growing pains this year with other positions too: QB K P CB We just need the fans to relax until this staff can get these kids some playing time and reps
  19. Come out here and train in the altitude...that will get them in shape for their first game and shouldn't be all that pricey
  20. I'm loving all this D we are picking up, hopefully our AD is reaching out to our Sunday Alum and other stars to have them come by and meet these kids when camp opens in August. Hopefully we can get some O too though, liking our O-line and the RB pick up...just hope we have a QB that can help
  21. I have a gut feeling, that he is committing to UCLA...they seem to be the biggest school out of all his offers. Plus he may just want to get away from FL...now the real question is will he pan out. I can't read through this thread, but some of the comments is that he is our Johnny Football or Tim Tebow. And he could a stud, which if he comes to USF...great, if he goes another place, I wish him the best. But his numbers are just average and the Elite 11 is all hype from ESPN and Nike. I see some QB's ranked pretty high in talent rankings that weren't on ESPN, so until I see AW or any of the other gys on the field I'm holding my comments.
