  1. I agree totally with this win versus the win in Tampa the following year. This win gave a ton of confidence to the team that carried them well into the next season.
  2. Too much unknown at this time for me to donate. From what I've I read, I'm not so sure I want to. Sorry, but I don't have a lot to donate so when I do, I'm sort of picky.
  3. If only there was a way for you to know beforehand it was going to be about Publix so you wouldn't accidentally stumble across something you didn't want to read. I still have the read the title Pubilx boy... You wouldn't have even had to read the title if this totally non-sports related topic was put in the proper board. But no, like me, you might have thought that maybe, just maybe, Publix was funding a practice dome or something else that was actually related to sports. Nope - open it up and it's about someone's Publix salad fetish.
  4. I'm astonished that you would think this board would be 100% on the same page for any issue!
  5. I always feel like I'm some kind of great fan just because I've been a football season ticket holder since day one and have had basketball season tickets until I see posts like this. Maybe in a few years when my life is less busy I will be able to invest more time and go to some of the other sports in order to get to know the athletes better and get a little more emotionally involved. Because they do deserve it. I did branch out a bit this year by following the women's basketball team on TV and attending the last tournament game earlier this year so perhaps that will carry over to next year. But before you call me a bandwagon fan, go back and read my first sentence about still being a football season ticket holder...
  6. I'm both proud and ashamed to say I'll be going to my first women's basketball game Monday night.
  7. Left a voicemail for my ticket rep, but in the meantime, does anyone know if they still show your ranking regarding priority points anywhere? I have 287 points which doesn't sound like a lot, but not sure how that ranks.
  8. So I'm one of the "Since-Day-1-Grandfathers. To be honest, I used to feel a little guilty during the heydays about only donating $100 to be in 113 when others had to pay $1,000, and I always told myself (and everyone grandfathered should have told themselves) that it would not last forever. Like someone said earlier, If you want to complain about the team not meeting your expecations lately, then be glad they're doing it when the team is down and you don't feel "compelled" to renew - totally your choice. It's funny because I recently got a nice promotion at work and was planning to go to Green Jacket level this year before this news hit. I thought I'd be able to slide over to 112 and only have to pay $600 (4X$150) in donations to get the club access. But now reading the fine print in the parking section, I will still need to pay another $400 to be able to purchase a second parking pass (well $495 if you include the $15 per game cost as well). But again, this hopefully will get me an upgrade into Lot 5. I've been in Lot 7 forever, but it looks like that lot has moved to daily cash parking. By the way, looks like no more Green Jacket - it's called Green Bull now so take good care of the green jackets if you got one.
  9. I predict that the fans won't show up with the numbers that this team deserves.
  10. Interesting that it seems the east-side sections are the same price as their respective sections on the west side. Weren't they always less expensive due to the sunburn factor? Wonder if the Easties will make a mad dash to the west. If that happens, we may still have a visual attendance problem on tv...
  11. The pitch was to reserve your seat for the new year and get to choose your new set locations first, but im not one of the large donors. I make small donations ie.. Lunch money for the week type donations. So my seats would not be between the 30's anyway. Im also trying to resale this to the Mrs. as why buy now before we even know the new price structure. With the closing of the upper bowl will there be a ticket that will even fit in our budget anymore? Are you in the upper bowl now? Yes - that would be good to know. I would imagine if they are thinking about closing the upper bowl they have to worry how many people they will lose (not want to pay more to move down to the other levels). I would think they would want to reach out them first, try to at least give them first choice at any open seats to entice them to pay the difference. That would be a tough sell after the last few seasons.
  12. More of us (including me) should have been on here enjoying this! They deserve a better following.
  13. Who says we haven't? Did you talk to the QB and he said USF hasn't inquired? According to ESPN, when the announcement was made it was like a coaches convention in Birmingham... coaches from around the country descended like vultures to pick the best kids and leave the scraps. God that sounds horrible Horrible is hearing your program is evaporating. I'm sure the players appreciate any interest they can get!
  14. Don't understand why USF doesn't create a basketball wallpaper since they think about doing it for football. The photo above is nice but I'm a fan of wallpapers that also include the schedule along the bottom or side.
  15. Yes - on the recruiting front only. And not that much there even. But ANY chance to add an L to their column or keep them from winning a conference championship or going to a bowl game gives us a chance to sway talent our way. You know - like it used to be.
  16. +1 If White plays, and is decent, I think we cover. But a win, on the road, with UCF 6 days away, I think it is quite unlikely. But...these kids now see a bowl as possible, so maybe they can pull it off. Stranger things have happened in our 17+ years. What do you mean when you say now they have a bowl possibility? A bowl has been a possibility since the season began. It has only been less and less possible with each loss. The possibility of a bowl has not been shown to be a motivator for this team so far.
  17. With the wind forecasts, might be a good day to leave the tailgate tents in the car. The sun should feel nice!
  18. Last Saturday my daughter asked me what earrings she should wear. I asked her why she wasn't wearing her USF ones so she put them on. That was at halftime.
  19. This is my least favorite game time, but let me focus on the positive: 1 - Should be a little cooler so tailgating may actually be pleasant. 2 - More apt to tailgate after the game (especially with a win) since it won't be too late at night 3 - Since it will be Veterans/Military Appreciation Day they will either have the paratroopers landing on the field or a nice flyover that will be visible in the daylight. Anything else?
  20. This is when I wish I personally knew a football player to get their side of this discussion. I do know that I see the kick-off team swaying to the music before the kickoff even when we're down (at the start of the 2nd half - not just after we score). I gotta believe our defense hears the music on third downs as well. If you had it your way there would be no noise at all when we're down. Heck - tell the cheerleaders to go home when we're down by more than two scores in the fourth quarter. Regardless, I've always thought that the music was for both the fans and the players, and especially the players when the fans are not there or if they're too quiet.
