  1. My guess would be to avoid any "cruelty to animals" claims. It's one thing to defend something that's been done for decades, but to even start something that may bring activists to the gate may be something they want to avoid. Almost like claims of insensitivities to races with choice of mascots. While the Redskins will remain the name for Washington, I doubt anyone else will start a new team with that one.
  2. more like pre-1983 -- we didn't have football buit we had some good basketball during those years. And we were the ones that kept pushing to get a team on campus. Lots of alumni from those years are hardcore football fans. As for this new guy-- I'm not sold. It smells of some FSU fan wanting to tell us how great FSU is/was/whatever on our board while acting like he's never even heard of USF football or any wins we've had. Fails to mention beating them in 2009 completely? what was he living under a freaking rock? Sorry-- seems an awful lot like some FSU fan trolling/beating his chest. Let's just say I am skeptical. And of all the games in the world to go see-- it was this crapfest of a game against UConn? Something smells here folks. 2/10 rent, do not buy He said he "gave it all up in 2002" - well before the USF victory in 2009. I compare it to me moving down from Chicago in the early 80s and remaining a Bears fan until getting out of the service in the late 80s and deciding I would give the Bucs a try and be a local team fan. Trust me when I say the Chicago game experience, even with the weather, kills Buc games when compared to the last couple of seasons. Looking back I still think I made the right decision and once oldbull77 gets his season tickets and is part of the (hopefully) improving program, he will be glad he became a fan. I say welcome.
  3. Am I the only one that does like how some in the audience try to change the words of our National Anthem and substitute the word "Bulls" in for "Brave"? Am I'm too sensitive to the fact that we are trying to pay tribute to our country and can't hold off just one more second before making a USF cheer out of it? I've been to a couple away games where we've had a large enough contingency where it can be heard and have heard comments from the host fans that it is disrespectful and I honestly can't argue with that. Do fans of other teams do this?
  4. Yes - nice touch indeed. Funny how marketing things actually works. I was thinking of skipping the exhibition game Monday night and making UCF my first game, but just talking to this kid for a few seconds got me excited enough that I think I'll make it and show support from Game 1 - exhibition or not.
  5. Can't wait to see how many of these games occurred while I was in school (1988 - 1992). This was one of them.
  6. Dang - I bought my season tickets today and was told I will just get "stock" tickets that they will print at USF instead of the ones above.
  7. Just got an e-mail from my account rep inviting all football season ticket holders to an open house next Wednesday night. Exclusive Sun Dome Open House Event for USF’s Best! Wednesday, Oct 24th 6pm-8pm · Special event only open to USF Football Season Seat Owners · Tour of the brand new Sun Dome and Muma Center · Head Men’s Basketball Coach Stan Heath will address the crowd about upcoming season · USF Representatives will be on hand for personal seat tours · Please RSVP with your personal account rep
  8. Why wouldn't you start by checking the baseball schedule and realizing that the season has been over for some time?
  9. As a personal tradition, on game days I was going to wear the same color shorts, shirts, and ballcap colors that match the team's pants, jerseys, & helmet but I think the all-green would have been a bit much. I watered it down to just jerseys and helmets. Maybe in my 80's I'll give the all-green another look. I would have to say the band coming out to play in the south parking lots before the game is one I enjoy. Please tell me they still do this - we've been getting to the games later this year with only a few minutes to tailgate, so haven't had a chance to walk over and see them.
  10. Let's all act like a total asses and keep pointing out how many Bulls fans there are at that game and how we own the stadium because the chairbacks are the same as our team colors....... who the f cares? Rough morning Mike? same fking argument gets made on here week after week-- might as well use it against some other team-- but do we hear it from the football experts? nope-- too busy telling us what ****** fans we are Chill Mike - That's the point I was trying to make - tired of the whining about the color of the seats. After seeing the stadium and noticing the green seats I figured those that it bothered can go have a pitty party with whomever at Temple is bothered by it as well. Red seats, silver bleachers, green seats - they all look bad when no one is sitting in them. Last week proved that they will paint the field for us for big games. And those against little crappy teams, I don't care if the endzones are just grass. chill? I was agreeing with you Got it - my bad.

  12. Why don't those going up to the Temple game have a group therapy session with some of the Temple fans. I mean their color is red and their pro stadium has green seats and our color is green with a pro stadium with red seats. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.
  13. So you verbally abused visiting fans in the stadium, threw some "choice words" at some lady who, according to you, only said, "Shut this little group up, didn't we?" and had to get vulgar with someone after the game who was celebrating their team's win by doing their chant. Sorry, my opinion here, but you're the kind of **** we don't need as a fan.
  14. From the Tampa Bay Times: "The 69,383 number represented tickets distributed. The actual attendance, according to the Tampa Sports Authority, was 58,808" Maybe this means they were checking IDs....
  15. Wow - listen to how good his voice is. Remember how horse he would be - especially toward the end of the season?
  16. I will withhold calling for his head until we are finished for the season. We can lose next week and still win the Big East. That was our biggest goal I thought. He has a chance to turn this team around and prove he has the ability to get that mess that we've seen the first four games (and maybe five) into some disciplined form of production. Now I have to qualify the preceding statements by letting you know that I am sitting on the beach with my toes in the sand typing this out on my iPad. If I can make myself believe the Bulls still have a shot to win the Big East, I just may be able to get myself to believe I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Someone please post the Dumb and Dumber "Still a Chance" video. I think it's appropriate.
  17. One of them has to - I got my new USF license plate on Wednesday and it is U27TD. Kloss may have a tougher go at it than Hughes though. GO BULLS!!!!!
  18. I think this idea should really be looked at the end of the season, although I believe it would be admitting that our growth as a program has stalled. For the last few years I think USF was feeling that people and businesses would eventually come around with the team continuing to make strides and they probably didn't want to sell seats cheap in the lower bowl and then have to grandfather them if later they could charge more. If we don't do well this year (and God forbid not even make it to a bowl game) then USF better do whatever they can to keep the borderline fans in their seats - even if it means better seats.
