  1. Not really a huge fan of the large break in between games as I worry about them coming out rusty after playing largely in a groove on Sunday, but Charlotte is actually off for one more day then we are, so hopefully that rust is either a factor for both teams or not a factor for either.
  2. Reading through the early pages is certified cringe now. All the talk of how awful Youngblood and Knox are and Youngblood can't handle the step up in competition. Now Youngblood is a big driver for us throughout conference play. Whoopsies!
  3. I swear I read that breaking news from the ESPN alert and thought "Wasn't UMass already in the MAC?" Now it makes sense why I thought that.
  4. Defend and rebound, and do just enough to not be a black hole offensively. To Pancho's point, I trust CAAR to figure out the best mix/rotation to keep guys happy and make it work offensively. We've seen this year that he'll adjust on the fly if he has to in order to find the mix that works.
  5. F that. The last few rounds of realignment we went with "There's not a lot of talk about us because we're making moves behind the scenes." Make noise. Make all of the noise. If we're making moves and a conference move is imminent, I wanna know about it right now **** it. VPMK needs to honor our constitutional right to be kept in the loop. Listen, someone always ends up hooking up with the heavier chick because everyone knows the heavier chicks do all the freakiest stuff. We'll still get picked at some point. They're not, but they're stable because Yormark was smart and took the stability of the contract offer they were given, knowing full well they would be unstable without it. The Pac-12 turned their offer down and we see what happened there.
  6. AAC is a 2-bid league for as long as FAU is not the champion. If FAU wins the conference tourney, then it's a crapshoot whether we get an invite or not
  7. Just wait, they're going to unveil the official look of the new stadium on EA Sports College Football 25 this summer.
  8. Eh, I've been able to do both. I don't know if it's just Hard Rock or Vegas in general, but I can't use individual players for the same-game parlays, so I mix it up. I'm not betting life-breaking money, so I have fun with it. Last night was the first SGP I've lost since I started throwing down on USF games. Usually just do USF to win, the O/U for the total game score, and something silly like an odd or even point total. I think for Sunday's game against FAU, I turned $5 into $30 and enjoyed the ride the whole time. Last night, I just said F the over, just get the dub.
  9. I had us winning, beating the spread and over 80. 1 out of 3 is good enough for Cooperstown, but not for a parlay!
  10. Even the premier matchups will eventually take a hit. The appeal to the rare cross-conference matchups like when Ohio State played a home and home with Texas, or other cross-conference blue blood matchups dies when they're just conference foes and one of them always has 3 or 4 losses.
  11. I think we all understood the committee would load up the CFP field with P2 teams. But the committee choosing them (deserving or not) above others is a different beast that guaranteeing 8 auto-bids to those two conferences. LOL this dude acting like people haven't been saying Notre Dame will eventually join the B1G, it's just a matter of timing. Their rivalries, their location, everything about them is B1G-ish.
  12. 1. Not sure about FIU's DB play, but DVD is regarded as a pretty strong recruiter. 2. I believe we had one or two coaches poached by other programs, hence why we hired a new RB coach, promoted Taylor to TE coach and hired DVD to coach DBs. The coaching staff was actually pretty stable going from last season into this next season. Hopefully that's a good thing. 3. I hope so
  13. A kid who's getting that Adidas money already and has a chance to play with his big brother for a year on a potential tournament team and is going to be an NBA draft pick and make even more millions anyway? Different people have different priorities. His one overarching stated goal is to go to a team that will help him develop his game for the NBA. His decision very well could come down to if he thinks Calipari or CAAR is better for player development.
  14. Exactly why I don't think the difference in NIL deals between Kentucky and USF will have as big an impact on his decision as it might with others.
  15. I definitely wouldn't mind the certainty of knowing that finishing mid-level in the Big East was usually enough to get you in the tournament. You also knew when you got to the tournament that the team was battle tested because the Big East conference that routinely put half the league in the tournament was rugged AF and there were very few patsies. I'd love a conference championship this year though. Even if it means we beat a couple strong programs and a bunch of also-rans, winning a conference is something. FWIW I do think the AAC is better than it gets credit for as a basketball conference. The new adds, while underwhelming in football, were very good basketball adds IMO
  16. Absolutely. We spent a lot of time at one of the local bars and their fans were buying us rounds and stuff all night. They were definitely good people and I think actually inspired a lot of USF fans to up our hospitality game at our own tailgates.
  17. Who knows? Who knows what drives any of these NIL donors to drop that kind of money on a kid that may or may not perform at expected levels at their school? Maybe we make the tournament and with most of the roster coming back next season, the Mumas or any other number of donors feel like Karter Knox could be the difference for a legitimate title run and want to help make that happen
  18. Yeah, but why should we be concerned with what Iowa State and Colorado think? Crazy talk? CRAZY TALK? Sir (or madam), #USF2B1G is happening. I read it on the internet.
  19. Also, he's apparently got a deal with Adidas, and it's been made pretty clear he's a one-and-done anyway, so the NIL difference between Kentucky and USF may not matter as much as it would with other blue chippers. He's stated several times he wants to go to a coach that he thinks will best prepare him for the NBA. Have to think seeing his hometown team with his brother gel and develop the way they have this season has had a positive impact in that regard.
  20. It's us and UConn and then all the Big East members will be back in a P_ for the time being.
  21. I don't know if it was 20K, but it was definitely north of 12K and it was a very loud, rowdy USF crowd that came through on the broadcast. We did a lot of that back then. I distinctly remember talking to some Auburn fans the night before our game up there where they were like "USF? Are you guys the ones in Orlando?" They were a nice enough host crowd, but that was probably largely because they thought they were gonna run us out of Jordan-Hare.
  22. B1G isn't desperate for another power football program. UVA gives them a boost in other sports. And OSU, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Oregon, etc., need to beat up on someone besides each other. And they don't need to "move closer to the SEC," they're already ahead of the SEC by a couple million per school per year.
  23. So they put out the 6-6 model (yay G5s have a chance!), then pretended they were killing the Pac (so they could cut to 5+7 with this idea that it's now P4) while also giving them a chance to maintain their status. Pac will take on the MW all under the P12 moniker, then we still have a P5 and now the G_ don't get a guaranteed seat and will inevitably still be left out of the dance. If you think this is a wild conspiracy theory that used the "death" of the Pac to reduce the number of guaranteed conference winners while simultaneously gonna let the Pac keep their autonomy status, then you haven't been paying attention the last 15-20 years. They'll continue to shut out the current have nots, because they don't want them getting any of that sweet sweet CFP pie.
  24. The way realignment has been going, they're probably trying to hold out as long as possible to make sure everyone's still gonna be here Inevitably though, they'll publish the schedules and then someone will announce they're Outty 5000 the next day. That's just the way these things work.
  25. Does CJF even still "got it?" More at 11...
