  1. False. There is a zero percent chance of the University of South Florida getting invited to join the NBA. Maybe some of our players, who knows? There is, however, a higher than zero percent chance that we get invited to the B1G. Even if it's only 0.5 percent, that's more than zero..
  2. Don't worry. That B1G invite is coming any day and then we'll have the resources to keep CAAR here forever if we wanted to.
  3. The B1G is in the unique position that they can demand both. They already make enough TV money as a conference that cares about the AAU status. They don't need to add others unless they meet the criteria they want. And there are quality additions available to them that meet both the blue blood/strong athletic program and AAU criteria. UNC is obviously a basketball blue blood with AAU status and also a very strong all around athletic department (#8 in the Learfield Cup last year). UVA is also an AAU school with a very strong all around athletics department (#4 in Learfield Cup).
  4. Sellout crowd looked and sounded great on TV. I was curious before the game how much of it would be our crowd and how much would be FAU fans making the trip, but it definitely looked like almost entirely USF fans
  5. Here ya go guys, this will be the one to put us over the top and get us into the B1G for sure: https://x.com/BillyBoSoxUSF/status/1758563190797951146?s=20
  6. With all of the rumor mongers out there, @Bull Matrix will never have a shortage of material for this thread
  7. To actively combat the other social media idiots who continue to pretend that it's not.
  8. Also, BRB, gonna go start some more rumors on Twitter (X).
  9. Excuse me sir, you said #USF2B1G was gaining traction, I need you to amend your percentages to put B1G out front. If you keep flip-flopping like this, no one's gonna believe your sources man.
  10. Honestly, I'm cool with getting in to any of B1G (obviously), SEC (obviously), Big 12, or ACC. But getting into the B1G ahead of some of the other Florida schools that would never be able to rationalize it in their minds would be astoundingly hilarious, so I'm pulling for that most of all.
  11. Gotta say, love the new, more positive Outlaw. A breath of fresh air from the Outlaw running around on these boards this time last year.
  12. Too late man. You're locked in as guaranteeing USF to the B1G for better or worse...
  13. Last time I checked, Hard Rock had 5 of our conference brethren: North Texas, Wichita State, UAB, Memphis and FAU. Somehow neither us or Charlotte are in the mix either. Or SMU.
  14. One could argue he spiked himself in the nuts by leaving what he had built at Valdosta State to be OC for lame duck Charlie for a year. Dude clearly knows football and I believe with more time would have succeeded here, but he was given a pile to work with and zero time to get it done.
  15. They do have a staunchly loyal football base, but I assume they'd add little that the ACC wouldn't already have available considering the already heavy NC presence. Even if the lose UNC, they still have NC State, Duke and Wake.
  16. Also, kind of unrelated, but I need the Hard Rock app to stop messing around and list odds for us to make the Final 4 and to win it all. I just wanna put an irrational amount of money on us to win it all at +100000 odds.
  17. They may try. Not sure if it will stick. ECU would still be in a stable home with a decent media payout in the AAC. Not sure how much they could sway them given the academics (as new adds, SMU was the lowest but still #89 in US News and World Report's rankings). ECU is way down in a tie at #195, which I guess is where Louisville is, but I feel like Louisville was a desperation add when they're Athletics were all-around very strong. ECU has a great baseball program, but what else?
  18. They're at 17 now with the new additions. Let's say they lose 4, they're back down to 13. I think they add 3 to get to an even 16 (yes, B1G and SEC are up to 18+, but I can't see ACC adding 5 schools). My hope is the Pac-2 just absorbs the MW in some fashion and the ACC ends up adding us, Tulane (close enough to the current footprint, fits the academic prestige of the conference, strong football recently) and UConn (for the obvious basketball reasons), leaving the conference looking like this: Louisville NC State Georgia Tech Virginia Tech Duke Boston College Miami Syracuse Pitt Wake Cal Stanford SMU USF Tulane UConn That's still a pretty strong basketball conference despite losing UNC and UVA. Football is still strong-ish with plenty of programs with potential with the P4 resources. Not sure what kind of TV deal that pulls, but certainly better than our current deal (obviously).
  19. Allegedly the Tampa area market is now in the top 15 in the US (11 according to Nielsen in TV market). Even capturing a fragment of that should pay off for marketing our star QB. And if Rosenhaus couldn't help him get a valuable deal here, then I'd be left wondering exactly what it is he's doing.
  20. It would probably help if we were 18-0 instead of 15-3 against Quads 3 and 4. I imagine those losses are dragging us down some (although obviously not pulling UNT down as much). Still, we moved up a couple more spots to 101. We have a shot at a Quad 1 win Sunday. Pull that one out and we'll be in much better shape. Also, as it was a road game, if I'm reading the formula right UNT could end up being a Quad 1 win if they move up a few more spots (same with Memphis, road win cut off for Quad 1 is 75 and Memphis is at 76). Regardless of all of this, we just need to keep winning. Win out and the rest takes care of itself.
  21. Will they though? The Big 12 would have the same thing in this situation that it had when the Pac started falling apart ... stability. They know what they have in their TV deal and know they just have to stick together to outlast the ACC. It's the same thing that happened with the Pac-12 after USC and UCLA left. The Pac was suddenly unstable without a TV deal and the Big 12 was already locked in with a bunch of teams nobody else was plucking anymore. The Pac got increasingly unstable as the months passed and eventually the "stable" Big 12 plucked their teams. The ACC will likely be backfilling with G5 teams unless ESPN or whoever else comes back to them to say they'll boost their TV deal X amount of dollars by adding power conference teams (which isn't likely to happen).
