  1. Yeah, if it gets any hotter, I'll have to take off stuff I really ought to keep on.
  2. It really doesn't take a whole lot of anything admirable to consistently point out failure to those who are happy and looking to replicate a good time. Actually, it is kind of a bummer.
  3. Some people, when training for distance running, measure their progress mile by mile. They push on with the ultimate goal (initially) of making ten miles. Celebration of progress and measure mile by mile until they can run a half marathon. Celebration of goal attained and push to next milestone. Ultimately, they get there by attaining all of the meaningless (to others) goals along the way. Some runners focus on the end of the race right off visualizing success and start knocking down milestones without much of a notice as they get closer to their ultimate goal. They also succeed. Who's wrong? I try not to argue with success.
  4. Yeah, we deserve one in there now. But, let's prove it on the field.
  5. Are you going to deliver an Ex-Lax chocolate cake to their locker room?
  6. I hate asterisks. I wish Milton was back and everyone was healthy when we win in November! It is shaping up to be a challenging year for your team. You gotta keep this guy healthy. Just watched the film. That guy is very fast for a quarterback. Hopefully, he can't throw!
  7. That's not a new internet challenge, is it?
  8. Part of this clash between those who keep talking about the atmosphere, excitement, buy-in, etc. of the past (at least for me) is addressing the changes supposedly necessary to have that atmosphere, according to some who didn't experience it. What we are trying to tell others is that we don't need to change much. We already had sell outs at Ray-Jay. An OCS is not going to fix attendance. Winning and especially big name wins gets people excited. We never had a conference championship. Yet we had sell outs, talked about on ESPN numerous times, Tampa lighting up in Gold and Green. All that without a precious aluminum foil trophy. We have basically all we need. We don't need to fix what ain't broke. Build the IPF and get on with it. We did better in trailers, anyway. Winning important games that people care about is what is missing. We get that down and everyone will have the atmosphere that they crave.
  9. Exciting, loud, best atmosphere I have experienced at a football game. Tore my right MCL jumping up and down. The doctor asked me how I tore it. Football, I said. You're playing football at your age??! No, watching it! I thought he was going to have me committed. I guess he just doesn't get it.
  10. Ok, the social scientist in me is intrigued. I wonder how the desire for and belief that we should pursue an OCS soon breaks down demographically - specifically age and SES.
  11. I don't think that a big program will play on UCF's campus. A neutral site? Yes, for more seating. I think part of the reason Alabama signed with us is they know that RayJay can accommodate the legions of fans that will want to attend.
  12. And entirely too small to attract big named programs for home games. They won't come because an aluminum wok won't accommodate the traveling fanbase. That is what UCF and their bouncehouse has done for them. They admitted it on their boards. I think we are missing this point if we are thinking about how inexpensively we can build an OCS.
  13. The way pro teams are going, the Bucs will want a new stadium in a few years and we can take this one over. The fine citizens of Hillsborough county paid for it, didn't they?
  14. I believe that you can drink twice as many beers with "light" in the name than regular beer. Lose weight twice as fast! You can do it! We need this IPF.
  15. That feeling when you make a stand, believe in your idea, fight, threaten, cajole, make the bold move and finally forge it into a reality and then, in a very public way, it craps the bed.
  16. UCONN's troubles never end https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ncaa-hits-former-uconn-coach-kevin-ollie-with-three-year-show-cause-penalty-huskies-avoid-major-sanctions/
  17. I've been trying to remember mutt's name. He has been absent for a while. Well, I hope there is another one, also.
  18. I heard it was a tough staff meeting...
  19. Excellent! It shows that he is not self-limiting in his recovery.
  20. CF recruiting is a sin and a business. Recruiters are seeking commits from 15-16 year olds whose parents don't understand the corrupt nature of the game. Lies, hookers, money (hello, Miami!) on top of a kid dreaming of one day being professional... Kids believe that they need to play for a high profile program in order to be noticed by the scouts. Of course, we know that that is not entirely the truth. But we are not 16, either.
