  1. The IPF benefits all sports: The indoor practice field space will provide each field sport – baseball, softball, soccer and track programs – a safe place to practice in the event of inclement weather. The increase in sports medicine space will allow USF to enhance the care and rehabilitation of all student-athletes and return them to competition faster following injury. That hadn't occurred to me. Even if football isn't your #1 sport, donating will benefit your favorite.
  2. Donated to the IPF. We are currently at 33% of the goal
  3. I think that this keynote address should have taken place. I think that USF was initially right. Just as I would if it were UCF. If there is any environment where censorship should be discouraged, it is the university environment. We are supposed to teach critical thinking. I guess that's an outdated idea when others determines which opinions you need to hear. There seems to be two different camps regarding foreign relations. First, eschew any attempt at public communication (or no communication at all). Meeting in public with an enemy is seen as conferring prestige since we are so superior that even meeting with a US official gives the impression that the enemy is legitimate enough to warrant our attention. It boosts their power and diminishes ours. Second is the attitude that we should maintain communication and even meet with our enemy in public in order to work on solutions. It's the old Vito Genevese principle "Keep your friends close; your enemies closer". The first position, in my opinion, is foolish. It is ego driven; the holder of this opinion is putting him/herself first. It also may reveal the fear that people are too stupid and can't be trusted with the facts when not delivered by American media. The second position puts the pursuit of peace and cooperation ahead of pride.
  4. Indeed. I guess posting your university pictures on a USF fan board and expecting any other reaction is strong. Tell me, if I went over to UCiF's board and posted a collage of our faux "National Championship" - how would that be received? Would you all play along with us (you know, like you do with your 90 year old Grandpa who thinks he is talking to General Sherman)? Because that is what your fanbase expects of the rest of the world. Knights, the football world laughed at the UCF delusion and continue to do so. "We want 'Bama!" ****, don't do that stuff! We never studied mass hysteria in my branch of Psychology, but you guys may be a classic example. With no regard for dignity, UCiF lays an adolescent claim to a National Championship and actually expects the world to believe them. That is an effect of studying in the land of make believe. Oh, wait, I get it. You guys "identify" as a championship team, so all others must accommodate the lie. Snowflake mentality. A champion is a champion and no attempt at justification is warranted. It was proven on the field. Keep the photographic pollution off these boards and we will try very hard to ignore your fans. There are a few Knights that regularly post on these boards and they are cool. Read their posts. Analyze them. Practice acting. Act like you have class, poise, and are not on unfamiliar ground when your team achieves success (I didn't say when YOU achieve success because you are not out of the field, but through referent power, you claim to have the same attributes and own part of the victory).
  5. Structure? Methodology? Chronological sequence? What exactly do you need help with?
  6. Good God, I hope we haven't driven away the new member!
  7. Dave? Dave? ...Dave's not here! No, man. THIS is Dave! Open up, the cops are coming.
  8. Yeah, great news! I hope he comes back better than ever. I love overcomers! And I would like him at the helm when we beat them this year.
  9. OK, so you want to take these one at a time. Let's do fired.
  10. How many people in these pictures were either fired, resigned, sued, arrested, investigated, jailed (coming), or failed to graduate?
  11. Basketball Jones! Basketball Jones! I got a basketball Jones, oh baby, oooh! Cheech and Chong classic. Basketball Jones Welcome to the board
  12. Proposed to my bride with this song playing in 1975. She still can't lose me at the mall, though for some reason, she tries...
  13. Younger folks really can't appreciate how quickly (relatively) society is becoming more comfortable around people with disabilities. When I was young in the 50's and 60's (the "old farts" mantra), if a male had a cognitive or developmental disability his head was shaved (so others would know) and he was mostly kept at home. All developmental disabilities were labeled "retarded" and those people were feared because you never know what they will do. Especially around the girls. We were ignorant of the value that people with disabilities bring. Now we are praising this young man for what he brings to the team. This makes me even more proud of our university.
  14. AJ Love? 2008 St. Pete Bowl? Now you have us going.
  15. Schiano is trying to get in our heads. Hey, Greg, I got something you can propel forward...!
  16. Working on my BA in Psych at USF. Raising two kids and commuting. I was 37 and a late bloomer due to the '70's.
  17. Welcome to the offseason on the TBP, Q!
  18. Why should I buy new sneakers? There's nothing wrong with these Keds.
  19. You hear people talk about the "intangibles". This kind of thing helps develop intangibles. I can't wait until he returns to the field but he will strengthen character, persistence, drive, and confidence from overcoming this. School teaches you lessons and then tests you. Life tests you and you learn lessons.
