  1. Well written. However, you castigate the reporter for his demonizing language and then label people who disagree as UCF Haters. I was the one on your board who (respectfully) repeatedly pointed out that UCF's selected strategy of how to handle UCF's recent success was going to lead to alienation of the very teams and decision-makers that UCF will be courting soon. UCF fans are rallying around White, and you should out here. But you should review among yourselves, not how you feel about your program, but how the rest of the CF world does. White informed the rest of the coaches in our conference that he wishes that they would stop their scheduling strategy because he thinks it will hurt the conference. Not that having a team with no SoS will hurt this conference more. This whole P6 thing is an embarrassment. UCF embraces the embarrassment with a self-proclaimed "National Championship" pissing off the teams who were determined to be actually worthy of the title. Think you will be getting a one for one with ANYONE from the SEC now that Saban is so pissed off that he breaks a thirty year tradition and chooses who? UCF's self-proclaimed rival (a lot of self-proclaiming going on in Fantasyville). You also fell into the same strawman constructed by your UCF boardmates. You claim that it's not your fault that your scheduled P5 teams are now not as good as they were. No kidding. Every team deals with it. Of course, your fans know that is not what is being addressed but they are confident defending something that no one is attacking. Good victory. The rest of the world is addressing White's announcement that UCF in now too good for two and ones FOR THE FUTURE. Now, if you want to defend that, ok. But let's not take it where it didn't go. I learned growing up that it is far more effective to stand up to the bully then to complain to them that they are not treating you fairly. We've chosen the former. UCF has chosen the latter. I might add - I don't want UCF as a rival. Never did. Many here cringed at the incessant whining, cajoling, and insults form UCF fans to please play them after beating them four times. Then, UCF follows us into the biggest conference for them and a consolation prize for us after the BE. I truly wish UCF would go its own way and had the confidence to make it on its own without constantly linking to us.
  2. Welcome, Springs. The offseason can be a bit weird here, so don't let it throw you!
  3. It'll still be plenty hot for the Wisconsin team. Them big boys are going to lose some weigh quickly.
  4. Someone has to talk some sense into them and the hometown paper is a good choice. The GroupThink is so prevalent that it going to take a lot to get through to them. No foreseeable SoS games in the near future as a way to prove that you can play with the big boys. The logic escapes me.
  5. At my age if I was any bigger, I'd be a King! If I was any smaller, I'd be a Queen...
  6. Dare I hope? Their oline will look Stonehenge. I just hope Florida speed can prevail. Now, if we can get in a passing game, I can maybe see it. But, we need to be able to stop the run like never before. I'm cautiously optimistic.
  7. And if you have a defense that is in top shape and deep.
  8. Down by the Black River, on a quiet night, you can hear the banjo music and an odd sound like a man squealing like a pig
  9. I can certainly vouch for that. I was stationed at Fort Walton Beach and the whole Western Panhandle is called Lower Alabama. I believe Alabama tried to buy that part of Florida's Panhandle at one point.
  10. Funny, I keep getting male enhancement products
  11. Actually, for a while, it was respectful and a good interchange of ideas. But after a while, yeah, the whole "mine is bigger than yours" maturity level prevailed.
  12. My sentiments, exactly. Now, if people disagree, that's fine. But at least they know with what they are disagreeing. This way is the chosen USF way. We don't know where it leads, but we know where it can POSSIBLY lead. We know where UCF's road leads. The CFP told us. The SoS is not strong enough. One school decided to keep doing what they were told failed. The other school learned.
  13. Saw Dave Mason in Central Park, NYC in 1974. I saw the Spinners in 1991. Never saw The Band, I am sad to say. If you haven't seen it yet, check out "The Last Waltz" one of Martin Scorsese's first films. It is a who's who of the sixties and seventies. Ya, know, before the wrap songs. I've heard of them. I don't like the wrap songs.
  14. I choose to live there. I've seen where we are headed as a society and decided to go back. It's very nice...
  15. It will be like that again. When, I don't know. But I bet it is sooner than later.
  16. I absolve you, my son. Say three fight songs and light a candle.
  17. Outside of the SEC, yeah they will pick up p5 games. The Illinois, Rutgers, and Boston College level teams will play them. And probably at a one and one. Their SoS will remain low and, therefore, the conference reputation will be validated in the eyes of many people. For a team being told that their SoS was too low with an undefeated season, they don't seem like they believe it. UCF, from what I see, is the embodiment of the old saying, "Continuing to do something that doesn't work and expecting different results...
  18. Yeah, the knights posted that on their board. I went there to point out the real potential danger in angering the very people that you will be courting. And that they can kiss the SEC teams goodbye for a while. No one will schedule them from that conference for a long time. The lack of big name games and the resultant low SoS is going to hurt them and the conference. Some listened but in the middle of a good conversation, the kids table emptied out and the grownups couldn't talk anymore.
  19. Now, THAT is some funny stuff! When the most powerful football conference spends the money to do that, I believe that there might be a message in there somewhere. Couple that with Saban giving UCF a knee in the bawls and I'd say it will be a long time before the SEC schedules a game with them. And now it looks like they are slamming UCF, as a conference, in the PR wars. I wish that UCF wouldn't approach things like this. Suppose they can't get their SoS up for a few years. If we beat them, accomplish anything notable, it will come with an asterisk. I hate asterisks. A clean defeat or win, I can take.
  20. Weren't we winning at halftime against Florida? That game made it obvious that depth killed us.
  21. Now that I think about it, the academic logo was very common. I just went into my pantry (glad I spelled that one correctly...) and pulled out a bunch of coozies with the old academic on it. Two USF Health, a few USF Alumni, and various others. With each college inside the university, I remember seeing college of engineering, college of this and that. I promise that I watched the games and not just the logos. And the Sun Dolls. Yeah, I promise that I watched the Sun Dolls. And the cheerleaders.
  22. Up there, yeah. But think of how many academic logos you can see at the game in terms of banners, academic USF shirts, Jumbotron ads, etc. There would have been a prancer at everyone of those.
  23. With nine big name games in the next ten years, UCF won't be the highlight for me.
  24. When the Bucs decide that they need a new stadium, the pirate ship goes and the U goes up. Thank God we got rid of "Prancer"
