This sounds reasonable, but only if BB is faltering on his own. He had plenty of help in looking bad. I don't count dropped passes (catch-able), stupid penalties, line collapsing, etc. against him. I don't envy a quarterback having to learn a whole new system and then being judged as incompetent due to the first ever performance of that system, how ever inadequate.

Let's see...didn't we have a quarterback who suffered a thigh bruise and the back up quarterback came in to help out. How did that work out? We can't give up on BB or anyone at this point. Let's see what develops and who improves.

The season didn't get flattened, we got embarrassed in one game with an brand new offensive scheme. All this emotional turmoil will abate and we will be back yelling at the TV every game. It's great that people care so much and this board is apparently very cathartic, but this is just the first game of a season and it's turned into a mob of townfolk out to get the monster. Apathy may be the only stable emotion right now. I commend you for it!

Yup. I'm not out on a ledge. I've been looking forward to this season since the last play last season. I'm not going to give that up so easily. That said, I am pretty embarrassed at my team's performance.

Hell, I'd take him back in a heartbeat. But, with one caveat: He has to hire a good OC, and that would be Bell to me to begin with. Jim was many things but not necessarily a great offensive play caller. With that fulfilled, I believe that the team would rally around the founder of this program and there would be new life in it, both in the locker room and in the streets. Besides, how much publicity would USF get with the story of the Jim returning? But, I am not in the fire anyone camp yet. That is mostly an emotional reaction. CCS has not had enough stable time to show what he's got and what he hasn't. KB's system has had one test and it is being labeled a failure. It was execution and a loss of confidence. It was turnovers and penalties, something you see in early games. It was an apparent capitulation and that is really the one thing that concerns me most. Let's see how the year progresses. Getting more than one game's experience with a new offense should instill more confidence. There probably won't be any changes soon and I think that is fair.

I don't imagine that many four star recruits have watched our last seven games and thought, "Man, I need to go to USF and be part of the special story that is developing there! Their future is so bright I need sunglasses."

Question: would any of CCS's former players play for him again? I think that is a great measure of a coach.

Yeah, I was sure the game would include plenty of quick slants to Wilcox and tunnel screens to Ford because BB wouldn't have time for his progression. I sure can't make a living out of this.

Well, considering our history on weekday games it is not a shock.

I could swear Bell was telling him about an open reciever that BB didn't see. Probably no time to go through his progression.

When you hit your receivers in the hands and they drop it don't think that it is a system's fault.

Let's not **** the whole year because of the first half of the first game. Penalties and turnovers, as usual, are killing us. There's potential on the offense and they will get better as we go on. The defense has me worried.

Good thing we didn't **** the bed when we fired our guy. I guess we are just smarter. We ARE preeminent, you know.
