Worked with with Rodney Adams, Valdes-Scantling, and seemingly AJ Legree (before injury). Transfers will always be a coin toss as there is typ ically a reason they didn't stay at their first choice. CWT took them because of their talent, hoping to mold them.

He's done a tremendous job, but if temple wins it's hard to ignore watt their coach has done.

What would you guess they pay Knight? 45k? Not to mention he gets all the hot dogs and nachos he can eat at each event. He puts together a few two paragraph stories a month, tweets a bit, and triple checks attendance numbers. Overpaid for what he does, but who else can you get for that?

I've seen Jeff Odom just today criticize someone's misinterpretation/misreading of something as lack of reading comprehension, which was a cheap shot on a fan that hadn't been a *****. This was done even after the fan admitted the mistake and was polite. Everyone gets on Twitter and becomes a snarky assclown.

He's been much more positive lately, but tends to be very defensive if anyone questions him. He's 100% on the Flowers train, but I think he's just a glass half empty person who thinks he's always right. To his defense being a beat writer is a tough job and from what I understand isn't a ton of money. However, you get to watch and write about sports and from what I see regularly (via video) can wear shorts or dad jeans at all times. For the past few years as we hit rock bottom and were rebuilding we had the best writer we deserved and we didn't really care who it was. Now that we have some momentum and the fan base is becoming more engaged we just expect more and we still have Joey.

I think Willie, being a better, recruiter would have been able to leverage the talent and immediate success, assuming the same start (was it 9 wins and a Clemson bowl win?) to quickly rebuild and reload. There may have been a divide, but winning solves a lot and if you kept the momentum and replenished the team with the talent he could have gotten in a BCS conference at the time, I think we never would have dropped past 7 wins. Just my opinion.

That was last years ranking. Considering our leading scorer graduated and moved on to the WNBA, it's not surprising. 26 is more surprising than 34 considering that, although we've recruited well, there will be several new players

They will expand eventually or be dismantled. Remove TX and OU and you don't have much better than the Mountain West. Their are only so many brands that can carry a conference each has 2-3, except the SEC.

I agree it's cultural. I just believe an OCS could build behavior and culture, becoming the thing to do. I also think that it really would only impact student attendance and have only marginal impact among any other ticket sales/attendance. The primary thought behind it is students are lazy and unplanned. I sure as hell was and I went where the drinks and girls were, an on campus stadium helps with that as it creates a local "party" within a short distance of dorms and student apartments. Alumni and local support is a different issue, that I'm not sure an OCS solves. It could bring some back to campus, but would it be 1%, 5%, or 30%. I tend to think it's in the lower tier. However, the OCS and would help create the culture and pride that students would hopefully keep as they graduate.

Unless they mean AAC championship with us and the National championship with who ever (not us). Just that ray jay hosts the games

Forgiven me if I repeat something as I browsed a lot the thread; First I believe that an OCS would increase attendance, but the primary driver would be students. If you don't plan to be a ray jay you won't go. However if it's on campus, and their is an atmosphere, or plans change, the walk up crowd for fans would (in my mind) be much larger on the regular. Also eliminates parking costs, some dui concerns, and time. The time helps for early games where students have to plan to be there and after a drunk night have difficulty making it early to Ray jay, but could walk up (even a little late) to an OCS. Look at student crowds for noon games at large programs and the difference between 1st quarter and 3rd is noticeable. Relating to marketing we do a good job digitally, but that only reaches the following we have. Which is small. I'm not local any more, so I can't talk to the outreach, but it seems to be lacking. People may not agree, but a successful team with an OCS, would draw the community to USF. Mainly because they look at it as a marketing or financial opportunity. It has to be a two way street and right now it appears one-way with the hope of future gain.

More male students would come if we had "fan zones" sponsored by Mons and 2001 Too much locker room talk ...

Western Michigan and Boise play relatively easy schedules the rest of the way to. Need to win out and get some luck (including FSU winning out).

I agree 100%, but not sure that solves the "it's too hot" or "it's a noon game" problems. Need alumni to be motivated to go and plan 6 Saturdays a year around the game regardless of time. I've lived out of state for years and plan 2 home trips and a road gam every year. If the local alumn, not only the diehards on this board, planned 4-6 saturdays like most other major schools we'd average 40k no matter who we played.

I only think OCS helps with students. Support from Alumni has to be rebuilt and communication, events, etc. is a good start
