  1. Sorry about the stupid heading, but I was just curious about something and wanted to get everyones attention.  I heard an interveiw with Urban Meyer and he was saying that when he was at Bowling Green and Utah he would get out and talk with the students. That he would goand speak with the fraternities, sororities, organizations, etc. He said he likes to do it all the time and it gets them excited about the season, the spring game, and it helps attendance (not that that will make a difference at UF).  He also says that he is going to do it at UF as well.  I don't think CJL does this I have been involved around USF for four years and haven't seen it done.  I would like to. Does anyone know if he actually does this.  It would be great around campus.
  2. You mean football. This seems a bit early, but for those of us with no interest in basketball, I think that we should start a thread about 2006 recruits who may be interested in becoming bulls.
  3. I am about as large a bull fan as they come, but we have to be realistic.  If everyone could assemble the teams Miami does, it wouldn't matter where you play. but we are no Miami (yet). Without a stadium on campus it is practically impossible to achieve a true college atmosphere at football games, which not only draws fans, but recruits.  Most are only in college for 4 years, although apparently that number is nearing 5, and will never be able to relive their college days again.  Not too mention it would attract many casual fans, as well as alumni.  Although you might not think so, stating miami as an example, we are not miami and it would make a world of difference.  I'm not trying to be critical on USF, it is amazing what they have done with the program in a short period of time (and that the university is not yet 50), but an on campus stadium would be the best thing the program could do (although it would be nearly impossible in the near future).  I truly believe that this program is going inthe right direction and have faith in the athletic department that there will be huge things in store for USF in the future.
  4. maybe a reason why scout.com dropped him from #3 DE to #30.
  5. Still a long shot, but still a shot. Not to mention it looks great being mentioned on ESPN with those schools. Brett (Orlando): Does Miami still have a shot at Fred Rouse or Ryan Perrilloux? Tom Lemming: (2:21 PM ET ) I think they have a slim shot at Fred Rouse.. who I think will end up at FSU. Perrilloux, when I talked to him on Sunday, said it was still LSU, Texas, S. Florida, Miami or FSU.
  6. I heard that Dungy signed Gramatica today, anyone hear anything?
  7. For those of you that can't make it to watch 2 of our commits play tomorrow you can hear the game on 620.
  8. Just to follow up on that running back Rodney Jones (6 ft., 200 lbs) he finished the season with Jones 1,445 15 TDs at approximately 13 yards a carry. Not to mention he had over 300 yards receiving. He did all this while playing safety and returner for a crappy team. He is a hell of a player.
  9. From Rivals: A couple of weeks ago we reported that Florida is still recruiting Nebraska commitment, quarterback Harrison Beck. Well he isn't the only committed quarterback still on the board, as coach Dwayne Dixon and the rest of the Florida Gators' coaching staff are still in pursuit of three-star athlete Carlton Hill. I hope our CJL knows this, we don't want another Ingram situation. I know Ingram never committed, but it is similar and much earlier.
  10. At least they have us ranked 49th. When we beat Southern Miss it will be much higher.
  11. Another to look for is Rodney Jones a Jr. from Dunnellon High School. He has the size and has sub 4.4 speed. He rushed for over 1400 yards last year as part of a 3 back line up with a Sr. (Marty Allen that had 1809 yards and 25 tds). He can play DB and returns kicks as well. His brother is a good friend of mine and already said we are on the radar. I know its early, but this kid has dominated everything I've seen him do and if I'm not mistaken he took 8th in the 100 in the state finals last year as well.
  12. I read somewhere that we were recruiting Jerron McCiskill a 6-foot-8 forward from Fort Scott. I think he went to Kathleen and if its him he definitely has skills. Only problem is he was dismissed from his Juco team after 2 games this season for violating team rules (I think). Must have been pretty big violation considering he was averaging 28.5 pts a game.
  13. Thought this was interesting. 17 year-old girl Wins McDonald's Dunk contest even after tearing acl not even a year ago. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/columns/story?id=1771877&partnersite=espn
  14. Not really a big deal. Just thought some would find this interesting. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1771504 Coach suffers fracture after collision with player Associated Press COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Coach Lou Holtz vowed to become more involved next season in South Carolina's offense, but nobody expected him to break a leg doing it. Holtz sustained a hairline fracture to his lower left leg Saturday while watching the offense practice goal-line situations, the university said Monday. Holtz was crouched down when running back Cory Boyd inadvertently knocked him over. The 67-year-old coach jumped right back up and continued practice, but later learned the extent of his injury. The fibula doesn't bear weight, however, so Holtz and his sore leg were back on the practice field Sunday.
  15. We have already signed a local kid. We are going after Shaefer (spelling) from Deerfield and just yesterday a stud 2 sport (b-ball and football) QB Cornelius Ingram listed us in his top 4 (to everyone surprise). He said that the BIG EAST is factor for us rating so highly. Also that he may get some playing time.
