  2. USF To Launch JD25.com On Friday To Promote All-America Candidate Jessica Dickson Tampa, FL (October 12, 2006) – On Friday the University of South Florida will launch JD25.com to promote women’s basketball standout Jessica Dickson for All-American and National Player of the Year. The site will feature audio and video clips of Dickson – including game highlights - updated statistics and biographical information, a photo gallery, a weekly blog, and much more as the season progresses. Dickson enters her senior season having already garnered preseason accolades. She has been named to the Women’s Basketball Association’s Wade Trophy list, given to the Division I National Player of the Year, and has been tabbed a Street & Smith Magazine Honorable Mention All-American in the publications recent college basketball yearbook. She also comes into the 2006-07 campaign with 1,755 career points and is just 66 points from becoming the all-time leading scorer in school history. Last season, Dickson averaged 22 points per game last along with 5.8 rebounds per game and led the nation in scoring for 11 of 17 weeks before being overcome by eventual National Player of the Year Seimone Augustus of LSU. Dickson would finish third in scoring at the conclusion of the season – behind Augustus and Sophia Young of Baylor – which was the highest that a BIG EAST women’s basketball player had ever finished nationally in scoring. In addition, Dickson averaged 21.8 points per game in conference outings. For her efforts in 2005-06, Dickson was a first team All-BIG EAST Conference selection and was tabbed an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press and Women’s Basketball Magazine. The Bulls are coming off the most memorable season in the program’s history. USF finished with a 19-12 record and a 9-7 slate in their first year in the BIG EAST Conference. In addition, the Bulls advanced to their first-ever NCAA Tournament earning a No. 9 seed in the Bridgeport Region. They faced the No. 8 seed USC in the first round in Norfolk, VA, losing to the Women of Troy 67-65. USF will then open the 2006-07 regular season on Nov. 10 when it faces Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 7 p.m. For season or individual game ticket information, please call 1-800-GoBulls.

  7. We all need to come out and support this team. They work very hard and if they get it all together can make a run toward a national championship. Lets show the nation that we support ALL of our teams.
  8. We vote for everything else in force we need to support this. This would get great pub for USF. These commercials are played non-stop during the year and even more during Bowl Season. VOTE NOW!
  9. Just go to the game. You will ride there and back with a bus full of friends. You will meet people on the bus and at the game and not having someone to go with will never be a problem again.
  10. Why would it be broadcast on campus. Since it is a home game wouldn't you like to see students attend the game? There have been flyers on campus all week I'm sure USF would rather a student attend the game than watch it from campus. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you want your students watching from campus or at the actual game?

  12. There was much improvement. Especially considering he came on in late July/early August. He is a tremendously hard worker with great ideas. In a short period of time he changed the way USF markets and has made an impact that will last a while. If he would have stayed we would consistently be increasing attendance and setting records (for us). He has paved the way for Bulls sports marketing and will be missed.
  13. "The way I see it, they hopped up to the BE and didn't win a single conference championship in their first year."  . . . . .They did win men's tennis.  No that it was a stellar year by any means and I hate louisville more than any other team in the BIG EAST.
  14. Not sure if anyone saw this or if it was already posted. http://usf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=540241 Big gun from Tampa Tampa (Fla.) Plant quarterback Robert Marve had the best arm among the quarterbacks. He throws a nice ball that receivers can catch with enough zip to where defensive backs can't knock it down. Marve holds an early offer from Kansas, but should see interest pick up in his services during the coming weeks. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could land this kid out of our own back yard. Doesn't appear to be on a lot of radars as of yet. Maybe we could snatch an early committment?
  15. "How about we rent the shuttles from Busch Gardens to move students down to RJS. I think that would be cheap and affordable mass transportation. " They already do that with the BULL RUNNERS. Students can ride them for FREE to the games.
  16. a 9 seed is not bet. We did get the respect we deserved. I hope the ladies pull it out against USC. GO BULLS!!!
  17. Soon things will be corrected.  That was the entire purpose behind hiring a driector of marketing.  Allowing it to be one persons responsibility to promote the University while increasing revenues and attendance.  With that aspect taken care off events such as around the Horns will work to raise funds for athletics and alumni participation with the program.  If I'm not mistaken a program such as around the horns would be targeted more at the alumni chapters rather than your casual fan.  As much as it pains me to admit this we are not on the gators level when it comes to support from alumni, fans, or even the community.  Unlike the gayterds and noles we don't have rednecks with 2 teeth (and possibly a GED) that claims to be our biggest fan, that will fight to the death over one of our games, and will dish out half of his years paycheck (probably $6.15 per hour) to go to a few games. The athletic department is working dilligently to create the new image of USF, but many outside of the university and outside of tampa even know who we truly are.  Are we USF?  Are we South Florida?  As they create a brand image and identity for the university everything will get much better.  It takes time, but in 5-10 years we will be big time (like the big 3 now).
  18. I mentioned rodney jones (rb from dunnellon) about a year ago. He is the real deal. He is fast and has power. He is also bigger than 185. Would be a great day if the bulls signed him or got him to verbal early. He is low on the radar only ranked #10. By the end of the season he will be higher.
  19. Not sure if its on here yet, but it is May 15, 2004. http://usf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=394152 March 1, 2005 USF Athletics Auction 2005 Details Announced -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C.T. Gallen USFBullsEYE.com Associate Editor Lee Roy Selmon and J.R. Reed at last year's event USF will hold its annual combined Athletics Auction and Salute to Senior Student Athletes event Saturday, May 14. This year's theme is "NEW YORK, NEW YORK" and celebrates not only the athletes and their accomplishments, but also the Bulls' pending entrance into the Big East Conference. The auction has been a tradition for the Bulls dating back to the 1980s. The event has changed and grown over the years, with the first auction at USF's Student Union (now called the Marshall Center). From there, the auction moved to the Sun Dome, Raymond James Stadium and Busch Gardens. In 2004, the auction was brought back to the home court - the USF Sun Dome - with a whole new look. Attendees of the event will experience NEW YORK, NEW YORK! - home of the BIG East Conference . . . Bulls style. The USF Sun Dome will be transformed into New York City. The event starts at 5 p.m. with a silent auction and cocktail hour. Dinner will be provided by Outback Steakhouse and will be served at 7 p.m. A live auction starts at 8:15 p.m. Proceeds will benefit USF athletic programs. Last year's auction raised more than $115,000. USF Alumnus Scott Kirchner said he's seen a number of great items at auctions in years past. "It's unbelievable the items that can be picked up at the auction, often below market value. Last year someone was able to pick up a $1,000 certificate for $800," he said. Items up for bid this year include marquee sports travel and ticket packages to the Final Four, the Super Bowl and the Masters. Plenty of items are also available in the strata of sports memorabilia (most are autographed), dining certificates, golf packages, hotel get-a-way packages, retail certificates, Bulls gear and more. Items last year ranged from $5 to more than $5,000. "There is something available for everyone, from the sports enthusiast to someone looking to have a new cooling unit from CGM Services," Kirchner said. The 2004 Auction and Showcase raised more than $115,000 for USF Athletics In addition to raising money for student athletes, the event provides a forum for the athletes to meet the many donors and members of the community who, over the years, have made it possible for them to compete collegiately. Additionally, it allows the community to interact with the senior athletes and say "goodbye" and "thank you" one last time. "The evening is one of the year's premier events for us," said Amabel Aqui, who helps coordinate the event for the USF athletic department. "The NEW YORK, NEW YORK! theme makes the evening an event to see and be seen for Bulls fans as we raise the funds necessary for our Bulls to be competitive on and off the field of play." Tickets are $100 per person or $1,000 for a table of 10. All inquiries, including item donations, sponsorships, ticket/table sales should be directed to aqui@admin.usf.edu or (813) 974-4223.
