  1. I think we've come to the realization that we need to win now and get into a better conference in the next year or two or the program is essentially dead. It's desperation mode for us.
  2. Yeah, appears that alot are on cbssn this year...ugh, I guess I'll give it a month, wait to see how we do against rice and then see if I want to continue making the $70 investment a month or just watch highlights after the game.
  3. They lost nearly everybody on defense from that team and were playing inexperienced players against us.
  4. That was also probably one of the worst defenses that we will play all year...
  5. I disagree. No moral victories. We lost... to Western Kentucky.... who had their two best wide receivers go out with injuries. We still stink badly. The defense looking better is good, but until USF can do enough to win games, it doesn't matter at all.
  6. I agree, there are going to be growing pains in year one. A 6 win team to me is the minimum though and still makes me cringe because I have high expectations for usf. I remember going to a road game at FAU when I was in college and the game was close at half time. There was talk amongst usf fans that if we somehow lost to FAU that Leavitt needed to go. It would set the program back too far to lose to a school like FAU. USF should never lose to schools like FAU or really anybody inside this conference. I'll let my expectations slide a bit to 6 wins because of where we've been the last few seasons and the rosters talent is bad. I will never expect USF to lose to these teams in conference though. To do so is to admit that you are peers with these schools and I have much higher expectations of one of the largest schools in the nation located in the most talent rich portion of the country. I expect USF to compete for a national title every year and my expectations will always be that way because that's where we SHOULD BE barring the realities of this season.
  7. I went to a sports bar and asked them to put on the game and they asked who? Then they asked why would you want to watch that? The bartender laughed and said no.... so I had to agree to go home and pay $70 a month to watch us stink against teams nobody has heard of in half full high school stadiums... and lose. Success for me is just finding the quickest way to get back to national relevance even if that is next year, I want to see the ground work to pounds these high school teams that are somehow in our conference. This is embarrassing....
  8. Hey guys, I currently have hulu live TV but I'm paying $70 a month for it to see all the games. That is wayyy too much of a financial commitment to watch usf football. Does anybody know of any cheaper streaming options with all the crappy channels that we are featured on? I would be willing to shell out $20-30 a month to continue watching.
  9. Man, if we could get receivers like horn and weaver to come to USF, we could get something going!
  10. I can't wait to see what crap tactic school we add to this conference next. As it stands, I'm not driving 7 hours to see any of the teams in our conference in person. I just paid the 70 bucks a month to be able to stream the games and I had to ask myself was it worth it the whole time... we are truly in the worst possible situation from a fan standpoint. If we somehow go undefeated in conference, do we brag to our uf and fsu colleagues about it? Does it matter much in the Florida/ national landscape. Do we get buzz on college GameDay? I honestly don't know.
  11. It was a bit concerning that the only wr doing anything during the spring game was a 5' 9" RB. I get that we had 6 or 7 WR's injured and out, but that was the problem last year. Not too hopeful for the passing game right now. The offense made our defense look like world beaters in the spring game and that's probably the worst defense they will face all year.
  12. I love the daily stampede. Only coverage of this team that we get and they actually get scoops. You know, because we don't have any beat writers because we are a sorry also ran program.
  13. USF as far as the statistic of winning in the 3 major men's sports combined, is the worst d1 athletics program in the country. I haven't calculated win rates in d2 or d3, so it's hard to look much worse.
  14. Get players who love the game, not the money.
  15. The middle school would likely be favored on the money line.
  16. Harlan never had a shot at usf. We are a tiny school with few alumni, we are located in an undesirable location that is not known for producing athletic talent, in a state where there are no successful athletic programs, and less money than the little school for the poor... any expectations besides dead last is a pipe dream...
  17. Agreed, statistically usf is the worst athletics program in the country at the big 3 men's sports. I don't think we can be competitive... we just don't have the resources of a real D1 school, which is showing up in the win loss column...
  18. If FAU is talking trash, we really need to shut athletics down. Lol
  19. That broke the near 30 year draught. Our previous conference title was in baseball in 1995. That's the longest draught in the 3 sports in ncaa d1 history.
  20. I love out of state and I wear my usf hat all the time. People constantly ask me what brand that logo is from. I tell them it's from the school I went to and they ask go oh... lol.
  21. When I did the math about two years ago, when you combine the winning percentages of usf men's football, baseball, and basketball, we have the worst conference winning percentage and overall winning percentage of all schools that play those three sports at the d1 level. We also hold the longest streak without winning a conference title in this 3 sports of any school that plays those sports at the d1 level in ncaa history. So by the metric of winning in those three men's sports, we are the worst athletics program in the country at the d1 level. Pretty bad when you consider those schools with far less to work with.
  22. Don't extend failing coaches on a hope and prayer that they will turn things around. Reward success not failure. If I cost my job millions of dollars on poor decisions, I would be canned too. Those millions could have really helped all of our athletic programs. I wonder how many members of this board have donated millions to athletics? How would you like to know that usf threw it in the trash?
  23. Usf has always stunk at athletics and probably always will. We just have to accept that and move on.
